Default Editing a Savegame File to Relocate Mongol Armies?

I started a game with Turkey on very hard difficulty with the sole purpose of fighting the Mongols. So I fortified Baghdad, Mosul, Tbilisi and Yerevan, and placed four full armies between Yerevan and Mosul waiting to see where they would come from. It was only a couple of turns after they had appeared that I realized they invaded to the north of the Black Sea. In the meantime I managed to my savegames up - I saved after they had appeared so the closest save before the invasion is still some 20 turns before they emerge.

My question for you, gentlemen, is whether there is a way to edit my savegame file (the one in which they invaded Russia) and relocate them to the south, i.e. on my territory?

There is a save game editor though i'm not sure whether we can use that yo relocate armies. Although what you could do is use the move_character console command and move these armies to the desired location and then save it.

Sounds good to me, thanks a lot

Also, do you think that the Mongols might behave a bit... strange after that? I think I read somewhere that if they invade north of the Black Sea, they head for Kiev, if they are south, they go toward Antioch, so could it be that their path is predetermined to Kiev in my case? Though I guess that shouldn't matter too much because I intend to attack them before they merge with the new waves that arrive afterwards.

I'm not sure, but I think the horde target is not changed when you relocate the stacks. So they will still move toward Kiev even if you move the stacks to Baghdad.

The new waves will also have to be moved.

If I were you, I'd just backtrack the 20 turns.

I loaded the game just to test this. I relocated stacks led by generals successfully, but I could not manage to do so with the khan and his heir. These are the combinations I tried in the move_character command: "Khan Mogedai", "Khan_Mogedai", "KhanMogedai", also all those combinations without the quotation marks, as well as only Mogedai. None of those worked. It was the same with the faction heir, who has both first and second name. Any ideas how to move them?

After moving the other stacks (those led by generals) south of Baghdad, I ended several turns just to see what they would do - they went westward to Jerusalem and then turned north, while the stacks led by the Khan and faction heir, who had stayed in RUssia since I could not move them, were heading south, presumably to meet the rest.

Once I manage to kill off all the Mongols' generals of the first wave before the next wave appears. I got the "faction destroy" message and the next wave came back at a different location.

Sorry, it's Mengadai, not Mogedai xD I was just too lazy to start the game and check before posting that comment. But the command does not work nonetheless.

Khan/King/Prince etc are titles not names, you need to enter their name. Unfortunately their last name isn't showed any more and you can only find it out by looking at names of relatives.

It's like when a new wave appears, first horde gets all stacks together then start moving towards target.
