What difficulty are you playing with ? Ressources are being fixed tonight as well as many others cool features.
I'm on legendary difficulty a veteran legionair unit vs lowest level hoplite gets decimated if I send another vet unit to flank them they do not rout or take any damage ! maybe 5 kills like after 2 mins and I lose nearly half of my menits weird though i feel like im playing more intensely now that my units need 3v1 to win haha

Atm the best option is playing at normal dificult right?? If not the morale is not well-balanced

Those both look lovely. I understand the Late Thorakitai are a WIP, but one suggestion I would have is for you to look at a similar unit in the Total War Hellas unit pack. They've got some nice helmet variations, along with different plume configurations. The crested Thracian one here is nice, but I hope it's not the only helmet present in the final version. Also, some of the high-tier celtic chain-mail would look nice, as I imagine the Seleucids and Ptolemies would have recruited some Galatians into this kind of unit. Additionally, I wish there was a way to make the Thureos shields in the game bigger, i.e. more on par with the scutum. The Thureos is native Greek and would make more sense. Just a thought.
I'm sorry if this has been answered already but how is updating this mod gonna work with official updates and existing (using this mod) saves?
I only really ask because I'm sure this mod changes the startpos file and I'm curious what would happen if I started a game using this now and then down the road you release an update that makes changes to startpos. Also official updates like the upcoming Bactria update.
Oh and this mod is looking pretty damn awesome! Thanks to everyone working on this for all the time and effort I can imagine it has taken/will take.
If you have started a save game after we added the startpos resource and faction changes, then your save games will be compatible. There will be a new updated to Meaningful resources coming soonish that may require you to restart your campaigns to take advantage of those changes. If that happens, we will let you know.
Just tried this mod from the workshop, and wow its brilliant makes the game so much better, just wanted to spread the word. It reminds me a lot of europa barbarorum from rome 1, all the names have been changed to there historical counterparts. But its the battles that are so good, they last a whole lot longer giving you time to move units to the flanks etc. I have seen the AI move its forces IN A PROPER LINE the majority of time, and it seems to always try to move its units to your flank and rear making the battles so much better........and harder. Any way just wanted to mention it as I don't think to many have seen it in the mod threads
Alright, here's a more representative picture of what the unit will look like. The colours haven't been finalized yet, and we're also looking at ways of making the shield look more authentically greek.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Lastly new greek tunics were recently added, which are used principally by the Thureophoroi.

Hmm... Yes the morale seems to be somewhat out of whack at the moment.

Meneros, excellent work as always! The Thorakitai looks absolutely great. The only thing I'd consider changing, as Caius Martius Coriolanus mentions, is the shield. The current one makes them look a little TOO Roman in my opinion. I think a thureos shield, as depicted in your picture I think, would suit the unit better. Either way, great job.
The reason why we are relucant to use the Thureos is because frankly CA didn't do a very good job with them. We're going to look through the various shields in the game to see if we can come up with something that works better, but I agree with you about the Scutum and it probably won't be used in the final version.
Yeaaah, thank you guys. But I don't understand how this
"and casualties are no more the determinant factor making units rout."
goes well with
"Expect even very elite units to not fight past 40%-50% the unit health and average units not more than 20%-25%"
To me, if ordinary units rout as as soon as they reach 75-80% of they health the casualties ARE the determinant factor, and in fact way more determinant than in previous versions/vanilla... Correct me, if I am wrong.![]()
Not sure if this is a bug but Carthages Alallia starts out weakened with minial soldiers in the garrison like 30/160 per units.
Also I'm curious as to when you will implement AGA's target area with pila. That's really the only thing stopping me from playing this mod. That and maybe excessive tech times, but i know everyone different.
