I will begin with a confession. I do not know if this thread has been handled before because I have not looked. That is because I believe the solution to my problem is a simple tweak that would take at most a minute. This, in my mind, makes me reluctant to spend the hour or two I would have to spend sifting through the posts hoping to find the right one solve my problem. I'm afraid my problem solving is much more direct; when I encounter something I don't know I find someone who knows more then me and I ask them. Some people find this annoying and I apologize because in the end I am asking something that is potentially extremely obvious.
The Problem:
The game is Shogun 2 with the Radious Experience Mod. The proposed change is to alter the number of skill points received at each level of experience of a general/agent. The game runs perfectly with the current version of the Radious Experience Mod. The original mod has been preserved as a backup in the event of bugs arising out of my inexperience/incompetence. I am using Pack File Manager v. 3.1.7.
- I open "Radious_ExperienceV16.pack"
- I navigate inside the .pack file to the following location: Radious_ExperienceV16.pack/db/character_experience_skill_tiers_tables/character_experience_skill_tiers
- I make my changes
- I save
- I launch the game to test the changes
- Game does not register the changes, thus making testing impossible
I respectfully request your advice and/or opinions and critiques on this problem as well as directions on a solution, both to the current problem and/or my desired changes.
I would like to take this moment to point out that I find the Radious Mod to be very ingenious. Compartmentalizing the changes and making each capable of operating separately or in a group allows me to change the game as much as I want within the confines of the mod which is something a lot of mods do not allow you to do; you must download the whole thing to make it work. This makes the Radious Mod unique in my experience (which admittedly is not vast); I like unique. And while I do like the changes Radious ultimately made, I am a tinkerer by nature and frankly, just can't help making some changes to the mod myself for no real reason other than that I like doing it. But, I do have the utmost respect for Radious and the mod they created and wish to thank them for their fine work.
