Default Political Office Bonuses - Cumulative?

Hey can anyone tell me whether or not promoting a general to the next office replaces the current bonus or if it simply adds the new additional bonus? For example, if the bonus is replaced I don't want to promote a consul to governor and trade -10% corruption factionwide for 20%tax increase in one province.

from what I remember they aren't one easy way to check is to save the game promote, look at the stats of the general hover mouse over the icons on the left corner below the generals portrait while having him/army selected a drop down menu should appear with every bonus that he has

Just checked it, doesnt stack, but i rarely promote Generals past tribune, unless trying to incite a civil war, its far to expensive early stages of the game, compared to the return you will get for paying for the office.

If you are using TTT mod from Hellbent, the promotions are scalable so it does have sense to promote your generals.

It's a must have mod tbh

Nope, the promotions do not stack. You can see it in the generals characteristics in the important character screen. The top characteristic is the political rank. For Romans, for example, tribune, prefect, etc. Once you promote a character, the rank will show up there with the bonus displayed. Once you promote further, the new rank replaces the old.
