Large unit transports
Hey guys,
I just started a new campaign at 1.5x unit sizes thinking that a 240 man unit should be able to get off a transport without a portion of the unit falling through the ground (well known bug). But during a siege battle the AI glitched out when the 240 man unit which was attempting to burn my gates seemed to die to a man but did not route because about 40 men were underground, so the AI thought it was still trying to burn the gate and did not send another unit to help. I think the cheap and easy fix is to lower morale a bit, but I was wondering if anyone knew the max unit size a transport can unload without some of the unit bugging out.
Thanks

Re: Large unit transports
sorry to be lame and answer my own question but after a few days of digging around and testing, I think 200 men is the largest unit which can use transports without bugs. I modded my unit sizes to be 200 for infantry 160 of missle and 100 cav. Works great and seems to be less buggy. The unit sizes are big enough to feel epic, but small enough to look proper on the games maps. That was the other thing I didn't like about 320 or 240 man units, they just didn't fit in the cities very well.
Posting this just in case anyone else was wondering.

Re: Large unit transports
Cheers, good to know. I want bigger unit sizes but have been put off but the possible transport bugs. Did you edit each unit size directly in the table?

Re: Large unit transports
Yeah, just change the sizes in main_units I think. And then you have to edit the land_units to give cavalry more horses, or else you get 2 guys on one horse. Also you have to increase the max_men_per_ship to your unit size in main_units as well.
