Patch 7 Black Screen/Freezing

Even on day 1 my R2 had very few crashes. This is also true for the 200 hours I've played with a mostly modded game.

All of a sudden my game is freezing frequently, either on campaign map or in the middle of a battle(very frustrating)

I'm not interested in playing vanilla, so removing mods to play the game would not really help me. What I'm hoping to hear is that this is a common problem and that I can look forward to playing R2 with mods again.
