Default Changing the number of soldiers in a Unit

I want to increase the number of soldiers in a unit. How can I do that and would that affect the game somehow? Thanks in advance.

Well, you can change the number of slodiers in a unit by changing the unit scale in the options, but I'm not sure if that's what you're asking. If you're asking whether you can make a single unit of 1000 men, I don't think that's possible.

    Kaloston!

You open export_desc_unit.txt and for example

    type greek hoplite elite
    dictionary greek_hoplite_elite ; Armoured Hoplites
    category infantry
    class spearmen
    voice_type Heavy_1
    soldier greek_armoured_hoplite, 40, 0, 0.7
    officer greek_standard
    mount_effect horse +2, chariot +2, camel +2, elephant +2
    attributes sea_faring, hide_forest, can_sap
    formation 1, 1, 0.7, 1, 10, square, phalanx
    stat_health 1, 0
    stat_pri 5, 0, no, 0, 0, melee, blade, piercing, spear, 10 ,0.71
    stat_pri_attr spear, spear_bonus_10
    stat_sec 8, 3, no, 0, 0, melee, simple, piercing, sword, 0 ,0.65
    stat_sec_attr no
    stat_pri_armour 14, 10, 7, metal
    stat_sec_armour 0, 0, flesh
    stat_heat 4
    stat_ground 0, 0, -1, 0
    stat_mental 17, disciplined, highly_trained
    stat_charge_dist 1
    stat_fire_delay 60000
    stat_food 60, 300
    stat_cost 1, 640, 210, 70, 100, 740
    ownership greek_cities
You change the bold parameter from 1 to 60 =max (or else you CTD)

    60 means 60 * 2 * 2 =240 in a unit in huge settings (plus officers)

Thanks for the quick replies guys. I'll have a go with some changes right away. But I wish we could have more men in a unit though. With big stacks of units I make it would be a bloodbath in my campains, but I can live with that . By the way Darth, have you thought of any new Mod for M2TW? Don't wait for the release of the game. Show us your MAGIC!!!

surely doing that would cause major lag issues if you dont have a high spec pc. i play on huge settings with lag only when my room is hot but that would be unplayable until i get a better pc. are you planning a rome mod for M2TW or staying with medieval period, whilst glory is asking may aswell ask what i have been thinking.

Darth, I changed the number of men in the units to 60 (max) but I have two problems now. First the number of men are 120 and not 240 and I can only play the battles in quick resolution. If I try to play a battle myself it crashes. What can I do to have 240 soldiers in a unit and at the same time avoid the CTDs?

=120 bcs you have game settings to large...go to graphic options and set to huge....

About CTDs....you must have done some syntax error....untraceable by compiler...re-mod.

I reinstalled the mod and now it works fine with 240 soldiers/unit. I deleted repman's JSGME because I think that was what caused the problem with the several mods I played at the same time. Anyway thanks a lot for the advise Darth.
