    Default Transferring game to Steam

    Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone can help me? I am looking to get back into Med2 but my disc drive has broken so is unable to read the disc to play. I still have the game installed. Does anyone know if it is possible to transfer the data to my steam account? I have the Kingdoms, the latest patch and SS mod - if it is possible will these cause compatability issues?

Or will it just be a case of biting the bullet and saving up to repair my disc drive or purchase separately on steam?

    Thanks in advance,
    Pengie99

With Steam, you're buying a new copy.

With your discs assuming you still have them, you're reinstalling on your new drive. If not, you're buying, again.

Dead drives are PITA but there are outfits that can retrieve the data usually at a per hour or per megabyte rate. A new game is a lot cheaper than what they charge.

It's his DVD or BRay drive that is the issue, not his hard drive - right?

I don't think a DVD drive replacement is too costly, and you might want to get that for other reasons as well anyway. Or not.

    ^^You are probably right.

I got a dvd drive from Newegg for $13 last year. Cheap by today's prices.

Thanks for the quick replies. For clarification it is my disc drive not the hard drive. There isn't really anything I use discs for anymore so I may just have to purchase on steam

When my disc goes, I'll be buying from Steam. Good luck.
