I just finished my 1st campaign on the "Hard" difficulty as Parthia.
Dureing my campaign I noticed the rebel armies were reaching ridiculous sizes and a few even had the nerve to seige a few of my cities. I beat them back, but it wasn't easy. Even at the start of my campaign 2 rebel armies were already idleing in my territory. And both were already up to 3x bigger than any army I had. I waited 4 turns hopeing they would leave, and they did, but if they wouldn't have, I would have been in some trouble. I also learned early that "devastation" can become a serious problem, if you let enemy armies idle in your lands. They seem to have a mix of all unit types as well. After I had conquered egypt, I was being attacked by rebel's bearing Carthage and Roman units. I couldn't figure out how rebel's got ahold of Roman units or Carthage. Even Greek units managed to find there way into a few rebel armies I had fought.
What i'm wondering is were these rebel armies really this large in real life?
