    Default [M2TW] Favourite Coder

For the year 2012, there are 4 M2TW modders nominated as favourite coders. A coder is a person who modifies the game code in an extensive manner. Like adding a unit or changing AI's behaviour in-game requires knowledge of code editing. Vote for the one you like the most:
    Toho

Toho has qualified himself in the 2012 coder category by working on CoW Revamp v1.4.4 submod. In which he has done extensive coding by adding several new units and rebalancing of EDU file or in layman terms unit stats values.

    Ngugi

Ngugi has qualified in the coder category for releasing working for the Sundering mod, a little work for DCI: Tôl Acharn, single submod to TATW as well as part of MOS and Withwnar's Submod Collection.

    • for High Elves
    • for Dark Elves
    • for Avelorn (female Elven faction)

This meant sorting out, cutting, change place or adding strategy map voices for agents, diplomacy, captains/armies and generals (normal, chivaleric and dreadful), building of towers/forts and for navies.

And battle map unit selection voices for all 13 factions units (and naturally there is a lot of them, including non-playable slave-faction units; I add not all units are unique to each faction but to a large degree), new warhorn sounds and selected voices unique to certain heroic characters.
Also new fire and impact sounds to certain [artillery] attacks making it sound like the magic it is showed to be.
    • added a few battle speeches and sorted the vanilla out from unfitting ones
    • sorted out or cut all non-fitting english battle event speeches (used by all 3 accents)
    • new end turn-sounds

All in all I lost count when I had worked my way trough about 1000 .wave and .mp3 files/entries in my task to grant The Sundering players an enjoyable experience.
Even if I to be fair did not intended such a work to begin with. When I was asked to lend a hand to this mod I had almost not heard of it, and while I agreed to at least fix some strategy map basics for them, as they was supposed to have another fellow who would take over, it went on to this, as they are nice folks working on a grand mod.

For DCI: Last Alliance that is found in the TATW submods MOS and Withwnar's Submod Compilition I created:
    • Tôl Acharn [jihad] event sounds.
    • Loremaster [imam] strat map agent voices.
    • Battle map voices for DCI: TA's mercenaries.
    regards Ngugi

Basically all the sound information of M2TW mod is stored in 39 vanilla sound text files. So any edit, addition or overhaul of music and sound effects requires thorough coding knowledge of these text files. Since Ngugi worked extensively in this area he's a suitable contender here.
