Hello all, new poster to the forums and have just started a little mod project. At the moment I'm just getting used to the toolset, and I'm finding one thing to be pretty murky at the moment. I've gone through the Lusted post on variant mesh and the main tutorials here, and so far none have answered my question, so:

If one wants to assign a custom variantmesh definition to a unit, how does one do that? Mind you not a custom variantmesh, but custom definition.

At the moment I've created a unit cloned from Thracian Warriors. What I've done is created a text file in my mod folder, pasted the existing Thracian Warrior definition in there, and altered it accordingly (added facial hair, more helmet variation, different body armour). Then I've added that text file to the mod via PFM.

However what I'm concerned about is the file structure. What I would presume to be logical would to be to copy the variant mesh definition file within PFM and then alter and rename it; it feels like I'm taking the wrong approach in trying to link it to the project.

I'm having other troubles launching with the mod (it just loads forever), but I think I've done all the attribute editing correctly and there's some pipeline problem; however this variant mesh definition is something I do not understand as to how it should be set up.

Thanks so much for any help!
