RTW and 7970m
Hey, guys;
The game doesn't see the discrete GPU in my laptop and instead uses HD4000. As a result, I can only play it on low settings... I've seen this issue being fixed on laptops with nvidia, but couldn't find a fix for radeon cards.

No help after almost a month. I’d be really happy if someone came up with a solution - as well as other people experiencing this issue! I'm sure there are many Rome players with AMD laptops.

Re: RTW and 7970m
I had to split the post due to the message limit. I was able to get the second Rome working (with some workarounds of course - CA did a great job...). I changed a few lines in the preferences script. However, I don't see anything like that in the original Rome.

Be sure to set Windows to High Performance. Then set the game in CCC to High Performance. Autodetect and power saving do nothing for games but butcher graphics settings.

Re: RTW and 7970m
These were the first things I did. There should be something else that's causing the problem. Some file I need to edit, perhaps?

The preference script is the only one. After that you're at the mercy of an almost ten year old game engine.
