Troop movement in battle
For a while I've noticed that after setting up my formation and starting the battle, when I highlight all units and try to advance they break the formation and move to my desired location in a super long line (all units next to the other). Any way to move in the battle map while holding my desired formation like in Rome 1? Thanks.

Highlight the units. Ctrl-G. Makes them hold formation.

Select all units. I think CTRL+A works. Then group in locked formation : CTRL+G. Now you can use right click and drag and they will hold formation.

Small tip: when using click and drag, shortly before you release the mouse, press and hold Ctrl. This way your troops will walk instead of run. Be aware, hold Ctrl while dragging will cause the formation to rotate.

Re: Troop movement in battle
There is another alternative (instead of CTRL + G grouping everyone). Arrange your army the way you want. Use CTRL + A to select everyone. Left click hold on any unit and drag to where you want your army to be. The whole (ungrouped) army will keep formation. If you press CTRL before releasing the mouse on the target location your whole selection will walk rather than run. If you press-hold CTRL while holding mouse on the target location you can rotate the ghost to change facing.
LOL, someone beat me to this.
p.s. the left click + hold drag chess piece style movement seems to conflict with "up arrow" style movement and strafe. once you have used the left click hold drag move, attempting to use up arrow on the same selection will result in the whole selection moving back to the original spot and then attempting a forward move from there.
