naval campaign movement / battle terrain modifiers
Hi everyone, I am currently trying to mod naval transports and have some questions regarding the db:
1. campaign movement: Moving an army from land to sea or vice versa seems to cost a number of actionpoints. Is the cost hard-coded or accessible/moddable?
Context: I am re-balancing the actionpoints for land units, transports and naval units with the aim of making naval transport significantly faster than land movement, but slower than military fleet movement. However, I would like armies to spend all actionpoints at embarkation/disembarkation.
2. battle map: Are there any tables with terrain modifiers which influence individual unit or unit type performance in battle (e.g. fatigue, accuracy, morale, experience)?
Context: Previous mods and CA have already reduced the combat efficiency of transports. They are now slow, fragile and ineffective at ramming.
However, I would still prefer some additional (dis)advantages for embarked units. This is a bit ahistoric, but with regard to R2TW battle balance, I think land units embarked on transports should not fight as effectively as those embarked on military ships.
If there are no terrain/embarkation modifiers accessible in the DB, I may think about dedicated Marine units for Military ships, as in Aeimnestus' Naval Mod. However, apart from the additional effort of creating them, this would also lead to balancing issues I would really like to avoid for now.

There are several different "terrains" for sea - deep sea, shallow waters, lake, anyway i dont think they are used, as i tried to change them but it had no effect in game.

Yes, there are different water type terrains used, but I am wondering if there are any modifiers linked to them or to land type terrains. If so, one could reduce the combat efficiency of "embarked" units vs. "organic" units in naval battles.

Had another look at the db files without success, so I guess I have to take another route... cloning all land units which are also used as "organic" naval crews and give them a special ability only available aboard.
