Long Swords

Hey, I was looking at the 3D units on the Total War website as well as at screenshots from Gamespot. The Armoured Swordsman was described as carrying a long sword. But the model they showed had this guy carrying a rather tiny sword. I looked at similar units on the screenshots, and even then their swords were nowhere near "long" in my opinion.

I mean, my definition of a long sword would be at LEAST like a meter long blade plus a 30 centimeter handle. But that's just me. What do you guys think, other than thinking that this is too mute of a point to even discuss, and do you think the guys at CA will improve their sword models before the game is released, or would we have to mod them ourselves?

There was probably a big issue with clipping with longer swords.

the zweihandler's looks fine, I don't get why they couldn't make this longer.

Im guessing that the swords length will increase with upgraded weapon from a blacksmith. They said that spears will have bigger spearheads from upgraded blacksmith. Maybe swords too will show the slight improvement of weaponry on the 3d unit.

They've already taken care of the problem with the hilt-guards (Thank You CA!!!)

Here's some of the newer screens with the 'fixed' swords...Ohh yeah, remember those elephants they promised us... you know... with the cannons mounted on their backs??? We got 'em!!! I'm not sure if it's historically accurate or not... but whatever... it's SO COOL... elephants+cannons=cool!!!
