    Default Ai and sieges

well, I havent gotten any answeres to my previous questions here, but i will try again.

I have made completely new settlement plans, but they are much smaller than vanillas. I am not sure if its due to this fact, but now it seems that whenever the Ai sets up on a cetain side of my settlement in the custom battle, they do absolutely nothing. What sort of things can I change to try to fix this. BTW, i have no experience changing ai formations, if thats the culprate.

are they defending or attacking? What kind of settlement is this? Does it have walls and what type and can the AI move? What did you use to make the new settlements?

ok, yeah, I shouldve been more spesific.

Well, the settlement has not been released or finalized yet, so I can pm you a screen if you wish.

The ai forces are attacking. The settlement is a castle with roman_town_wall sized walls. (this is in custom battle mode) when the ai sets up, it has certain area do it in. That area forms a sort of semi circle around the castle. When the ai sets up right in the middle of that semi circle, it has no problem coordinating its attack. However, every now and then, it put part, or all of its army on the far left side of the semi circle. When it does this , it puts the catapults and rams close to the town, but the siege towers really, really far away. But either way, when the battle starts, they just sit there, like they are waiting for something (including the units set up in the middle). They dont move unleass I exit the castle, and even then , they stop as soon as I go back in.

Part of the settlement plan and buildings were made by Adherbal a long time ago, the rest I've edited and made and put them in the settlement plan by manually finding the coordinates in 3ds max (but I dont think this is the issue, as I can play out sieges fine as long as the above does not happen)

ok, well i figured out what the actuall source of the problem is. It seems that when the ai is seiging castle walls (in vanilla terms, its those that you can put men on and use ladders and siege towers against) if it has any catapults (like onagers in vanilla, but much, much weaker, not enough strenght or ammo to completely destroy a section of wall unless you have like 5) it will siege the walls with the catapults unitll it runs out of ammo, but then (since no part of the wall is destroyed) the rest of the army will just stand there like they are waiting for the catapults to break through the walls (not using the other siege equipment they have), but obviously that never happens.

Did a similar sort of thing ever happen in vanilla? I remember that sometimes I would burn all the battering rams or defeat all soildiers sieging the walls and the rest of the ai would just stall and not do anything, but that was a long time ago in 1.2, Chiv is built on 1.5.

Can anyone think of any solutions?
