Excellent, I am sure it will be a good feature. I can't say much more due to my lack of own modding skills

Yeah this will need some balancing I just thought I'd mention some features for Genova since it is going to be a new faction, and Venice is rather similar to it in some respects. Back then for Tsardoms TW I suggested to give them stronger ships, a trade building (like the Hanse's Handelskontor would be. In 1400 there were 12 of such representative buildings for different European powers in Alexandria, one for France, one for England, one for Venice, one for Aragon and so on. After the ongoing mercantile rivalry, in 1500 only six were left. Of these, FIVE belonged to Venice and the last one was representing Genoa Even more striking, the Venetian ambassador was the only person apart from the Mamluk ruler who was allowed to ride on an elephant on the streets of Alexandria So, when it comes to business and trade, don't mess with the Venetians...) and to somehow represent this peculiar form of government. In Venice the Serenissima was only open to a limited number of 2000 families, which is still a lot of people, but the important thing is that the members of the elite who governed the city remained virtually unchanged throughout half a millenium (from the 13th to the 18th century). I have to stress again, however, that I am not sure if this was similar in Genova.
"Pompeius, after having finished the war against Mithridates, when he went to call at the house of Poseidonios, the famous teacher of philosophy, forbade the lictor to knock at the door, as was the usual custom, and he, to whom both the eastern and the western world had yielded submission, ordered the fasces to be lowered before the door of science."

Glad to see you added a new family tree ancillary the preview looks pretty good Neadal!! Can't wait to see how you keep progressing that aspect of the game to every faction and more detailed then what you've already accomplished in a short amount of time!

Thank's for your suggestions! I will do a little research, as well
Problem with Genoa is, that it was under French rule in the beginning of our mod.
To be honest, we struggle a bit to represent their rule over the city.
Especially, you can not script vassal states..

About the offices. I thought we could add a feature like in the HRE-mod. Offices could be granted by the player.
I think that would be great fun, besides we already have this feature for the Pope election script

True, similar to Savoy. I don't really know either... a simple way would be to use the ''vassal'' function in the game (even though the vassal quickly betrays his lord quite often) and possibly add a money script like the one Naples has with its Papal tribute, just with Genoa/Savoy paying it to France.

As for the offices, that sounds great!

That is the problem, I can not script a faction as vassal, only war, peace and neutral..

Yeah, I guess we will use something similar to Naples.

Well, do you have some ideas, which offices we should add, for sure?

Oh well, that is strange. So you can neither put it as a vassal at the start, nor use a scripted event where a faction becomes a vassal?

I think offices should be quite different for each faction, so it's hard to suggest stuff simply off the top of my head. But each faction should have its own preferences, for instances Genoa and Venice should obviously have offices for their admiralty, while that is less important for France and pointless for Switzerland. A feudal state like France could also distribute noble titles like ''Duke'', just think how Cesare Borgia was made Duke of Valentinois by the French King. These peerage titles also existed (still exist) in Britain and probably in Spain and Austria (for our campaign) as well. However, in Venice such a title would make no sense at all, since there was no formal, feudal peerage.
Austria then can use a lot of imperial titles, functions from the HRE such as Erzbannerträger des Heiligen Römischen Reiches, while the Ottomans no doubt had other titles used to govern their empires, and perhaps religious titles can also be given to family members of the Ottoman Empire or the Papal States (and the new Tunisian faction in 5.0 as well, I suppose). Florentine or Sienese generals could receive titles according to their position in the (formal) republic and it's assemblies, councils and comittees, while Swiss characters would bear titles relating to the Kanton they represent. These are just some thoughts, but I am sure you'll be able to find fitting titles for the various factions that make sense and will add to the uniqueness of each faction It is actually quite fascinating how different many of these factions were built in their structure, from a feudal kingdom par excellence like France to a mercantile Republic like Venice, an islamic empire like the Ottomans or an imperial ''double state'' like the Holy Roman Empire/Austria.

    Thank's for your praise!

Sad to here that, bad luck!

Well... good question.. we tried to find a balance between historical accuracy and game experience.
But when we had the choice between fun and gameplay, we chose gameplay
Maybe, you can give me a hint, so I can give you a better/proper answer!

    cheers,

Sorry to hear your announcement that you are going on hiatus, but big respect for leaving us with a 5.0 patch before you do.
What is your other Mod IND by the way? I seem to have missed that and I'm sure it is well worth a look.

I just saw the announcement, +rep! I hope you will return to modding soon and that your team will have team to fix some bugs and stuff in the meantime

So, will all new factions be added as planned then? Is the family dynasty feature the normal vanilla family tree, or does it concern the new traits system? Thanks in advance.

    Many thank's for your praise!

Everyone, except the Hafsid Dynasty of Tunis.
I meant the new trait system.
