How's development going on the mod? Any news about the release of V5.0 or just updates on what you've been working on? I'm really looking forward to this mod so any news would be most welcome.

    Hello Italian Wars team!

Per my discussion in the bugs thread, I haven't been able to get your mod to work successfully, but I have been able to port many of your unit textures over to my Stainless Steel submod SSHIP and they look great! I've replaced most of the vanilla textures for late-period Renaissance units, except for cavalry, which seem to have problems in that regard (namely Demi Lancers and Mounted Arquebusiers). With that being said, would it be okay with you guys if I released an SSHIP submod featuring some of your units? Do you guys offer permission to use materials from your mod? Mind you, I'm only talking about unit textures and models, not anything big like campaign features.

Please respond here or feel free to leave a message on my profile page. Cheers.

I tried contacting Aneiron about using aforementioned material from this mod (to create a new SSHIP submod), but I've gotten no response. Do you guys not care about your mod anymore? Or addressing the concerns of the community here at TWC? Please respond to my request.

I am writing on the subject of the so called "Independent Settlements", i.e. Lucca, Siena, Casale, Mantova, Modena.
If I understand well, they work in that way, that they create rebell stack besieging them if any player besieges them?
    First of all:
is therefore conquering them worth it at all?
Secondly, could you post info about this mechanic and the list of those settlements in download thread or maybe in the game as triggering message?

    Hey there,

there is a message on turn 2 or 3, if I am not mistaken..
My lord,\n\nas you can see there are many independent counties, margravates, republics and Siniora. You will notice that these cities are more difficult to conquer than others as well as to keep, but in these cities you can gain titles and new opportunities open up to you.\n\nThe effected cities are:\n\nThe sea republics Noli, Gaeta, Ancona and Ragusa, the Marquis of Montferrat, Mantua, County of Modena, the republics of Lucca and Siena, as well as the Signoria Piombino and the Island of Elba.\n\nThis cities will be very hard to controll, but if your conquest is successful, there will be large benefits for you.\n\nYou may have a colser look at the cities on the map, so choose yes.
As for your questions, yes they are worth conquering since you'll get access to unique units and buildings.
Besides you have to defeat the locals twice and after that it still will be hard to hold on to the city since their inhabitants are just more rebellious than those who lived not under their own rule.

To alter the script open campaign_script.txt with a text editor of your choice and go to section 'Herrschaften und Seerepubliken'.

Hope that was kind of useful

    Cheers,

@Aneirin: could I please receive a "yes" or "no" answer to my request written above? I have waited a long time for a response, since the 16th of January.

    1) I just wanted to again express my enthusiasm for the Ultimate version of this mod!

    2) Is there anything that I can help with? e.g. Translations (Italian/German/English) or Alpha testing?

    3) Would it be an idea to include named forts in the mod?

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...ld-Named-Forts

That would allow for many more "settlements" on the map...

    Thank's mate!

Well, there is currently no need for a translator, probably after the release.
Nevertheless, I'd be happy to accept your help in testing the new condotta-script, if you'd be up for that?

As for the named fort implementation. I just have spoken to Geoffrey about it,
we decided that they're currently not an essential feature.
You see, our 'manpower' resources are very limited at the time, so I'd rather focus on finishing the main parts of the mod.

    Best regards,

No, it's a new map. This mod has nothing to do with machiavello.
