    Default Crash after destroying faction

    Hi,

I'm using TA 3.1 + Baron Samedi's Submod Compilation 5.0 on Win 7. Playing as High Elves and I'm about to destroy Isengard. However, every time I conquer their last city and they turn into a horde and I end my turn, the game crashes, telling me that Medieval 2 encountered an unspecified error. More precisely, it crashes just when it should be my turn again, i.e. the game finished computing the other factions' turns. If I don't conquer the city the game works fine.

I tried deleting map.rwm file in both the TA and the vanilla folder, deleted .strings files, turned autosave off etc. The only things I haven't tried:

    1) Run game as admin because whenever I try to it tells me it can't find the kingdoms.exe (which is in D:\Games\Medieval II Total War; TA is installed to D:\Games\Medieval II Total War\mods)

    2) Turn UAC off and reinstall Medieval 2 and TATW. Simply because I don't have the time right now (maybe tomorrow) and thought that for this specific problem there might be a solution.

Can I somehow turn off the horde-feature?

    Thanks for your help!

It's a Horde bug script in Baron's Submod, your campaign is lost and there is no fix for it.

Great news...but thanks. Is that an option I can turn on/off and thus avoid the problem in the future or is it an integral part of the submod? If not, do you have any suggestions for mods that make the game faster like the total recruitment mod featured in Samedi's compilation?

Yes, that is an option that you can turn off, but only at the start of a new campaign. And, Baron`s submod is currently unsupported cause Baron Samedi has been inactive for a very long time, and you will have a hard time playing that mod.
