Default Crash when clicking on enemy settlements

Hi. I have been looking through all the threads to try to solve this problem but I am getting tired of not finding the right answer. When I would click on an enemy settlement on the campaign, it would always crash saying it was an unspecified error. Please give me a list of ways that may resolve this problem. Thanks very much!

Hello there and welcome to TWC Forums!

    1. What Windows do you have? If you have either Windows Vista, 7 or 8, did you disable UAC, or edited security of your main M2TW folder BEFORE installing TATW ?

    2. Is your M2TW Steam or non steam version?

    3. Have you installed all four TATW Parts ( 3.0 part 1 and part 2, Patches 3.1 and 3.2 ) ?

    4. No submods installed?

    5. Your M2TW/Kingdoms work fine?

American, French, Israeli and British government's ILLEGAL aggression against the Syrian people, without any proof for chemical attacks in Douma, and without waiting for OPCW to conduct their investigation..

If you are a citizen of one of these countries, then DO NOT ask any help from me on these forums, since, in protest against this aggression by your governments, I do not provide assistance/help anymore.

    1. Windows 8, where would I find the UAC
    2. non steam version
    3. Yes I installed all 4 parts
    4. No, I've tried in the past but gave up on that.
    5. Yes

I had a launcher issue so I had switched the folder names with the teutonic.

You will have to reinstall TATW I`m affraid, due to not doing step 1 ( disabling UAC, or at least editing security of your main M2TW folder).

Go here and follow the steps: LINK.

    Good luck!

Sorry it took so long. It does work now and i had to delete the two geography things for it to work. Thank you very much! I used the security setting option.

If I want the MOS, I should copy the TATW to a different folder just in case I screw up. Then after every MOS download I should run cleaner.bat, right? Then cleaner.bat should take care of it automatically or do I have to do it manually?

Well, if you have space on your HDD, just copy/paste somewhere WHOLE Third_Age_3 folder and rename it to Third_Age_3_BACKUP ( only, you will need to get back those two descr_geography_new files back: LINK for the original TATW files - when you open it, go to File - Download, extract the files and just copy paste descr_geography_new files to Third_Age_3/ data folder)

For installation of MOS, you can follow these steps: LINK. You can start from step 3. Also, LINK for Thread with pictures for installation, there is a section for MOS installation. Cleaner.bat file is run automatically after the end of installation of every MOS part, but, you can also run it manually after the end of Installation of EACH MOS Part.

    Good luck!
