Things are well balanced. You have three different campaign AI settings you can choose from to mix up the challenge. There is also the Byg's Grim Reality 2 and 4 to choose with 6.4 (you can download byg's 5 for one hell of a challenge). As the post above said, its everything the vanilla game should have been.

Also get the latest version of Really bad AI installed, that will improve the combat AI by a lot.
