Default Question for all RTW modders

I have created several RTW movies using the games movie_cam feature, however I have watched several movies made by a particular person on youtube, and would like to ask anyone if they know how he did it/what he used.

I am fairly certain he has modded the game camera in some way, or is using something to give him extra camera flexiblity. The movie_cam itself does not give you the level of control he expresses within his movies.
Here is an example of one of his movies:

I have sent him a message asking him how he creates his videos, but it's obvious he wants it kept a secret and hasn't replied.

    Does anyone have any ideas?
    :hmmm:

The movie cam feature does give you that control. That movie was made with the movie cam. You can set up camera moves and everything using it. Movie cam is used in battle replays and what you do is render a movie using the replays and text files. Theres a tutorial on how to use the movie cam properly somewhere on the web.

We did the intro movie to RTR, same sort of camera moves. All using the movie cam. THe only problem is it takes forever to set up etc. That movie, at 5mins long would have taken him many many hours. THe only modding done in that video is putting in the female peasants as a unit so he could add them to a the opening scene.

    Thanks for replying.

So he's using tons of key inserts and stuff?

For some reason if I press more than 2 buttons at the same time, the camera goes HYPER fast.I normally record all my footage using fraps. Would recording using the game features give me any advantage?

    thanks for the melp

Yes it would. It also would allow you to render at any quality setting you want. You can render with anti-aliasing and AF without slowdown in the final product. I suggest looking for the documentation CA provided for the movie cam.

Ok thanks for the tip. Is the documentation the same as

The CA website isn't really helpful.
