Default GSTK: To revive or not?

I would like to know how many people are interested in restarting GSTK? I would like to keep the restart small and simple to start, and have the game develop as our needs develop

Please if your interested state your name

Basically, it's all about what you envision the restart to be. The GTSK in classic sense has been overdone and needs a break for the hype to return.

I don't understand what you mean, the rules are going to be plain and simple. I am going to try and mimic the rules of the original game. As for storyline we can only set the beginning where it goes after is up to the players

It is entirely and intrinsically a nostalgic venture that just pitifully spirals within a matter of weeks to only a literal few players doing random things.
This is in no way a good idea.

It is perpetually 'reborn' by RPG 'veterans' who have (A) no time or (B) no commitment to actually being part of the RPG community.
'Veterans' who claim to know the forums better than anyone, yet haven't really been a significant part of it for a very long time.
'Veterans' who come in like the Bonus Army so they can revive their beloved RPG in the name of nostalgia and then disappear off the face of the earth after about 2 weeks of activity.

I apologize, but I feel it needed to be expressed.

Good show, Sotha. Exactly my thoughts on another GSTK 'revival' that will die off in the first week...as usual.

I find this quite hypocritical seeing as you posted about a GSTK based RPG few hours after my thread

    (A) Commitment is an issue for all RPG's doesn't matter young or old, reasons vary as to why members quit but if enough members are willing to commit I don't see why we can restart GSTK
    (B) I don't see what Veterans have anything to do with this

Look closely, there is a world of difference between the members "Dark Storm" and "Lucius Malfoy." DS posted it, and not LM or Sotha. So there is no case for any hypocrisy here.

    (A) You just laid a finger on the problem, if enough members commit and display consistency in their activity. But then again, how much is enough members and what is the guarantee of the commitment more than a few weeks.
    (B) Veterans in that post means players/moderators of the old GSTK who seems to be the only ones who want it up again.

I always mix those two up, anyways my apologies

as for the veterans what does their motives matter so long as they remain active and we have enough members

But they never do. They have a proven record of disappearing off the face of the earth after two weeks, tops.

Gstk under the typical management and style has failed numerous times after being given more chances at a fresh start than any other game. If it were to come back in any form then it will do so only under new leadership and vision.

Why did GSTK restart and then get deleted?
Jon had taken Donal and Benjen’s advice to heart: Sam may be fat and pathetic, but he is still a member of the watch, and one of the few black brothers who isn't a rapist or thief. (out of context, this sounds ridiculously racist)

I would prefer that you not. GSTK has had 5+ restart with most of them dying within a month (3 months latest).
