It is fog of war (I reckon) and the snake-like bit is the only part that has been dispelled by a unit (in this case, probably a fleet) moving through it.

Looks as though it only goes as far up as Florida.
I can see that too, the whole thing looks a bit out of proportion to me....Originally Posted by Lpo

nah looks interesting an ugly prehaps they will reveal more btw where u get those pictures
that was weird, i thought i saw this post three/four weeks before, with the exact same comments, anywho, that is deinately florida at the top, but if it was going to be to scale there would be miles and miles of ocean, and we would get from new york (if that) and east.
hmm about distance u see the snake trail prehaps thats the only route an it takes like 10 turns to get there
These are the shores of China and the fleet that opened the way is on search for the North-West passage.
No, it's just Fog of War. The player just decided to go down around to Africa, then head to the Americas. We've all seen those snake like routes sending our Diplomats through undiscovered territory, after all.Originally Posted by king-nord
Plus, I'm sure most of us have seen the scanned picture of the map with no Fog of War (from some Turkish site), so rest assured the route is not... crazy like that. Just fog.
No its not. We know form other pics we've seen that is Florida in the North, Central America and the Caribbean in the middle, and Brazil in the south. It's not in proporation to how it should be, but otherwise Ca would have to extend the map a lot further south to make it realistic, and i personally don't want miles and miles of desert at the south of the map.
