Default Help with modding a vanilla unit

    Hello everyone,

I've been following the modding community for a bit and learning a lot by reading up and I'm very impressed with what everyone has done so far. Right now I'm trying to mod an existing vanilla unit to carry swords instead of spears, but when given a sword in the Land Units db file, they have the stats, but there isn't a sword in their hand. In many of the mods you guys have produced there are files called Variant Mesh Definitions and I've tried most everything else to get those swords to appear, so I think I might need to tell the game how to place the swords on the unit I'm trying to mod. I can't open those files on my own using Pack File Manager unless I'm missing some additional functionality of the tool.

Thank you very much in advance for any assistance you can give me.

Alright I found what I needed. Just in case anyone else is looking I found this link, http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...initions-files, and realized that I can use the open as text option in the Pack File Manager to read the Variant Mesh Files and edit the Weapon Bone points. 1 for spears, 2 for swords. The Variant Mesh Files are found in models2_rome2.pack I think. Happy Modding.
