When it was announced that Rome 2 would be 1 turn per year it was explained this decision was based on statistics of people starting and not finishing their campaigns. CA said that by making the campaign 1 turn per year, more people would actually finish the games they start.
I've found this to not be the case at all for me, but the opposite. I haven't finished a single campaign of Rome 2 yet out of ~20 started campaigns. Even the multiplayer campaigns I've started I haven't finished since me and my friends have always both gotten bored. While in previous total wars I would have finished several campaigns by now. Every campaign I start I get bored of by the arcadey unimmersive mechanics which makes the campaign feel like a grind or a bug makes me want to stop playing the campaign (such as lag when ai is burning gates when playing as Carthage or Ai being passive). Mods are still too minor to have a larger effect on the gameplay value of the game for me as well.
Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone is in a similar predicament that I am
And to those who actually finish their campaigns, from where do you get the energy to do it in Rome 2?
