    Default Idea: actual pauses.

    I'm going to go ahead and assume that this is where people bring up their ideas. I don't know if this already exists, but would it be possible to darken the screen and allow no unit selection or actions performed while the game is paused? I am a pause addict, and I find it impossible to play a real battle without pausing to give orders or catch my breath. While the latter I suppose is necessary for any RTS, the former is definitely not, and I find it bizarre that such things are permitted. I have no choice but to pause; I can't play through a battle because I would fall apart and lose track of everything, but I also don't want the free and simple cheating that comes with it. Even if I could get myself to stop giving orders, I still reflexively orient myself and plan. I think this should be necessary for bragging rights and the like, and should be relatively simple to make. If you have to play multiplayer without freezing time, then why not campaigns?

    I believe that it is a hardcoded limitation of the game engine itself. I may be wrong but I have never run across or heard of someone doing or even attempting what you are proposing which is why I believe it to be impossible. It is just a facet of the game that can't be modified.

    This is probably a better question for text editing in the mod workshop, anyways you can campaign_script button actions, so you could atleast program the computer to unpause every time you hit pause, real bad ai may already have a feature like this as an add on. They have lists for the proper button names somewhere but I haven't written code for this type of thing in 8 months so I can't remember the details.
