!!! It is mandatory to use the new patch with AUM-ROM !!!

If you use AUM-ROM without any big gameplay changing or overhauls mods, then the old save games of your campaigns should work with the new patch.

If you started already a new campagin with the new patch, then you can also activate AUM-ROM in your existing campaign.

AUM-ROM works if you bought the DLCs and also if you didn't bought the DLCs.

How to install AUM-ROM with Steam Workshop:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Steam Workshop automatically downloads the latest version to your Rome 2 data folder if you subscribe to AUM-ROM.

    - subscribe to one version
    - open the launcher and click on the Mod Manager button
    - click on the check box to activate AUM-ROM
    - click on play

Additional Units Mod - Rome (AUM-ROM) - vanilla version

Additional Units Mod - Rome (AUM-ROM) - Radious version

    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile.../?id=187018395

    How to install AUM-ROM manually:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    1.
download the AUM-ROM vanilla version or the AUM-ROM Radious version and unpack the file to a folder

    2. copy the file aum_rom_mod_van.pack or aum_rom_mod_rad.pack to your Rome 2 data folder:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\total war rome 2\data

    3. Activate the mod with the official Rome 2 Mod Manager

Or create/edit the user.script.txt file in this folder:

    C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Rome2\scripts

You must save the script file in UNICODE.

Please put the AUM-ROM entry on top of the script file if you use other mods.

Add this line below if you play the VANILLA version:

    mod aum_rom_mod_van.pack;

Add these lines below if you play the RADIOUS version: (depends which mods you installed from Radious)

    mod aum_rom_mod_rad.pack;
    mod Radious_Total_War_Mod.pack;

It could be that your Windows Explorer doesn't show the file extension like .txt. This can be activated in the "Folder Options" of the Windows Explorer.

    - Go to the settings in your Windows Explorer
    - Go to the "Folder Options" > Tab "View"
    - Scroll down until you see "Hidden Folders and Files"
    - There you can enable "Hidden Folders, Files and Drives"

    Recommendations:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Create a backup of your save games before using AUM-ROM. If you install an unit pack and then play a campaign, the IDs of the custom units stay in the save game. If you remove later an unit pack in your ongoing campaign, then the save game can't be loaded correctly if there are recruited custom units in the armies from you or the AI.

    C:\Users\Yourname\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Rome2\save_games

If the custom battle screen crashes, then please remove all files in these two folders below:

    C:\Users\Yourname\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Rome2\battle_preferences

    C:\Users\Yourname\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Rome2\army_setups

    Crash of the game:

If your game crashes you could re-download changed "vanilla" files and verify the integrity of the game:

    > Open Steam > click on my games > right-click on Rome 2 > left-click on properties > then look for the Local files tab and click on Verify the integrity of the game cache

There you can re-check the integrity of your Rome 2 files. It takes some time, but after updating you have again all proper vanilla files.

Unit Pack Compatibility Languages Project - Rome (UPC-ROM)
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The unit names appear automatically if you play the English version. You can switch your language in the Steam options of Rome 2.

All other languages need the related language file here: Unit Pack Compatibility Languages Project - Rome 2 (UPC-ROM)

    Multiplayer

!!! It is mandatory to use the new patch with the AUM-ROM vanilla version and the AUM-ROM Radious version !!!

    - fully save game compatible if you started already a new campaign with the new patch/DLC
    - it should be save game compatible if you use an old campaign and play further with the new patch/DLC. But it is highly recommended by the developers to start a new campaign to fully benefit from all their changes and updates.

    - tested the included "Rome 2 Custom Battle Crash Fix" by RYAN related to the new patch/DLC and it is working
    - all custom units are not available in the two new DLC's "Empire Divided" and "Rise of the Republic". The reason is because they use both a different time frame and my units wouldn't fit good into these time frames. I listed the
details on my Total War Center thread about which units can be recruited in which campaigns.

    Two new custom AUM-ROM units:

    > Antesignani

Unit creation and icon by SWISS HALBERDIER and two custom cuirass textures by DRAMABELLI

Light elite troops and vanguard of the legion. They fight out of the heavy infantry's battle-formation. 'Antesignani' means "those that precede the standard". They appear after the Marian reforms between the late II century and the beginning of the I century bc. During the march they protect column-formation as skilled explorers.

    Campaign recruitment: Auxiliary buildings 3-4

    Custom battle: Rome

Abilities: quick reload / rapid advance / hide in forest and scrub / loose formation

    > Helvetii Solduros

Unit creation and icon by SWISS HALBERDIER and a custom chainmail and helmet texture by DRAMABELLI

The Solduros "Devoted Ones" are remarkably skilled and fearless elite guards of Celtic nobles. They pledge themselves to each other and their charge and fight to the very end. They are a remarkable elite and best used to combat enemy's elite soldiers or heavy troops. They are very well armored and armed and can surely break many enemies. They are very expensive and while their armour and shields are of good quality, they have no form of retaliation at range. They would be too slow to chase off skirmishers or missile troops and so they would need ranged or cavalry support.

    Campaign recruitment:
All celtic and germanic factions: bronze and iron buildings 2-4
    Romans: Auxiliary buildings 3-4

Recruitment "Grand campaign" and "Imperator Augustus" campaign:
only recruitable in the province "Raetia et Noricum" (Auxilia_local_Raetia_et_Noricum)

Recruitment DLC "Caesar in Gaul" campaign:
only recruitable in the "Celtic provinces" (CiG_Regional_Celtic)

Custom battle: Averni, Suebi, Helvetii, Rome

Abilities: shield wall / head hunt / hide in forest / cold resistant

    - Information about the campaign recruitment of all three Helvetii units (vanilla and Radious version):

Helvetii Oathsworn Spearbrothers / Helvetii Longbow Hunters / Helvetii Solduros

    > Normal campaign:
    Province "Raetia et Noricum" (Auxilia_local_Raetia_et_Noricum)

    > DLC "Caesar in Gaul" campaign:
    Celtic regions (CiG_Regional_Celtic)

    > DLC "Hannibal at the Gates" campaign:
not available because the alps regions aren't accessible

    > Imperator Augustus campaign:
    Province "Raetia et Noricum" (Auxilia_local_Raetia_et_Noricum)

    > DLC "Wrath of Sparta" campaign:
    not available because it's a different time-frame

    > Information for AUM-ROM Radious players:

"Roman Archers" and "Auxiliary Sagitarii" are both available.

Radious created an archer unit and here are the differences to mine:

The "Roman Archers" made by Radious are the late/elite version:
    - steppe recurve bows / precision shot / signal arrows
    - available at higher military and city major buildings
    - higher stats, costs and upkeep

My "Auxiliary Sagitarii" are the early/regular version:
    - normal bows / flaming arrows
    - available at AUX buildings 2-4
    - lower stats, costs and upkeep

    - updated the icon of the Helvetii Longbow Hunters
    - added new logo for the Steam Workshop and thread. Thanks a lot to Gerula666 for creating the new logo and banner.
    - increased the "General aura radius" from 75 to 100 (new if you play the vanilla version / Radious mods use this per default)

    - all Roman ships added to the custom battle screen

You need the Nomadic Tribes DLC that you can play these factions.

    AUM-ROM 1.5 - 21.10.13
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    - balancing changes related to the RADIOUS full overhaul version

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    - minor improvements related to patch 4
    - Auxiliary Roman Archers and Helvetii Longbow Hunters can use the new button "loose formation" which CA added in patch 4
    - raised the unit cap to 10 for the Helvetii Longbow Hunters and Helvetii Oathsworn Spear Brothers
    - removed all unlocked AUX vanilla units from the custom battle screen as there is a CA bug, which causes a CTD if the faction Rome is selected in the faction menu on the right side.

If a player uses several unit pack mods which add custom or unlocked vanilla units to the faction Rome, then this CTD can happen in the custom battle screen if Rome is choosen on the right side as enemy. This bug is related to all unit packs. I made the decision to remove all unlocked vanilla AUX units from the faction Rome because of this new discovered bug from CA. To make sure that AUM-ROM can be played with other unit pack mods. I will look at these unlocks again as soon as this CA bug is fixed.

    AUM-ROM 1.2 - 10.10.13
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    - slightly re-balanced all three units in both AUM-ROM versions
    - Helvetii Oathsworn Spearbrothers wear helmets (fixed a problem to make it compatible to the official patch 3 and beta patch 4)
    - added the Roman vanilla unit "Vigiles" to the campaign: Military main buildings 1-4 / Auxiliary buildings 2-4
    - added the Roman vanilla unit "Rorarii" to the custom battle screen
    - removed several unlocked AUX vanilla units from the custom battle screen as there is a CA bug, which causes a CTD if the faction Rome is selected in the faction menu on the right side.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

I updated my TWC Wiki Tutorial with helpful information about unit pack customization:

    http://www.twcenter.net/wiki/How_to_...Unit_Pack_Mods

It's possible to customize AUM-ROM with the Pack File Manager if subscribe on the Steam Workshop. If I release a new version, then the aum_rom_mod_*.pack gets overwritten.

You could copy the aum_rom_mod_*.pack and rename it to my_aum_rom_mod_*.pack. Then edit this pack like you want and activate your edited my_aum_rom_mod_*.pack with the Mod Manager.

Excellent work, as always, and appreciated.
Query: Do the Britannic celts have access to axe units?
I ask because the description reads as though only Gallic celts have access.

    Thanks and + rep

    Hello to all AUM-ROM players,

I'm back after my long disappearance because of health issues. Thanks a lot for all your feedback and nice words!

    Today I released my AUM-ROM 1.9.

Huge thanks to my friend RADIOUS who kept my AUM-ROM alive and updated it to the new patches while I was away.

Huge thanks to my friend DRAMABELLI who kept the UPC-ROM project alive and for his newly created custom textures, screenshots and beta-testing.

    Thanks a lot to PLISSKEN3 for beta-testing.

    Changelog:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Huge thanks to my friend RADIOUS who kept my AUM-ROM alive and updated it to the new patches while I was away.

Huge thanks to my friend DRAMABELLI who kept the UPC-ROM project alive and for his newly created custom textures, screenshots and for beta-testing.

    - improvements and balancing changes related to patch 16.1, "Emperor Edition" and all DLCs

    - added new "buildings-to-units" relations to all custom units (thanks a lot to RADIOUS)
All custom units are available if you start a new campaign
All custom units are available in old save games from pre-patch 15

    - added new custom chainmail and tunic textures for the Celtic Long Axe Warriors by DRAMABELLI

    - added new custom chainmail textures for the Germanic Long Axe Warriors by DRAMABELLI

    - added the "form_pike_square" ability to the Helvetii Oathsworn Spear Brothers

    - removed the unit cap from all custom Helvetii units

    - added the new vanilla "man_axe_shield" animation to the Celtic Axe Warriors and Germanic Axe Warriors

    - optimised the unit heights visible in battle

    - added all custom units to the "Imperator Augustus" campaign

    - added all unlocked vanilla units to the "Imperator Augustus" campaign

    - added these custom units to the DLC "Hannibal at the Gates" campaign
Romans: Auxiliary Roman Slingers and Roman Archers (Sagitarii)
Celtic/Gallic factions: Celtic Axe Warriors and Celtic Long Axe Warriors (Iberian factions can't recruit them)
The Helvetii units are not added because the alps regions aren't accessible.
The Germanic units are not added because they don't have a faction.

    - none of my custom units have been added to the DLC "Wrath of Sparta" campaign because it's a different time-frame

    - added these Roman vanilla units to these campaigns
Grand Campaign / Caesar in Gaul / Hannibal at the Gates / Imperator Augustus

    Auxiliary Infantry
    Auxiliary Cavalry

    - included the very important "custom battle screen crash" fix (thanks a lot to RADIOUS and RYAN)

This crash was caused when you selected for AI any faction which has a roster so large that game couldn't handle it (only for AI and it caused a CTD). This is finally fixed and you can select for AI any faction you want without being afraid that your game will crash. This was unfortunately a known bug since October 2013. I discovered this issue while trying to unlock more vanilla units for the faction of Rome.

    - added all 75 Roman Auxiliary units to the custom battle screen

    >>> Two new custom AUM-ROM units

    Cheers and enjoy AUM-ROM

Dramabelli: Thanks a lot for your countless hours for the UPC-ROM and your very valuable testing, screenshots and texturing work for my AUM-ROM. Your new textures enhance my AUM-ROM a lot.
