Editing faction bonuses

Hello, I would like to edit the Spartan faction bonus to add some sort of increased melee skill for their units. I would like to know where exactly I can alter the faction bonuses to add this. I've edited some of the vanilla game before, (namely the turns per year and a couple other irrelevant things). Thanks for any assistance.
