Which new engine do you hate? There is no new engine made yet or did you like to say you don't like the current warscape engine?

This will unlikely happen since Activision is now part of the Blizzard empire

You can easily download a windows DVD iso e.g. win 7 home on the net and aslong you don't crack it but use an own legit key this fairly ok. I haven't tested if you can even use the Microsoft iso for testing purposes and activate them. Maybe this works to.

If you cannot get a 7 home any other win 7 DVD iso will do changing the ei.cfg. but this needs little bit to read how to's

When actvision held ca, total war series was great but when ca was turned over to sega, total war games has always been released unfinished... It seems ca is always rushing their games...

Is it because of SEGA? Like anondev mentioned in his review...

Indeed. Gets to the heart of the matter. Don't be distracted by issues like transports ships, tis the battle engine that's fooked for ancient warfare mechanics.

You should look about battles and engaging of units ect ect not on the "simple" issue with transport ships.

The main problem is Warscape itself.

They made it barely playable in Empire, but since Warscape works great for gunpowder battles that rarely have melees, they managed to perfect out that area in Napoleon and it was a huge fun game.

Then they made innovations with Shogun II, but those innovations worked only for that game. They never fixed the engine's core problems, and when they tried to copy Shogun II's achievements (or rather dumb them down) they failed. So badly.
