    Default Camel mounted swivel

Will there be Camel mounted guns?

Camel Gun Mounted on Saddle. The earliest type was the 'hand gonne' developed in the fifteenth century, but was not a great influence in battle. It was a small cannon with a touch-hole for ignition and had an effective range of only about thirty to fourty yards.

a late sample showing how this kind of unit was all but an experiment from the fifteenth century....

Since I know CA loves weird and peculiar historical units I just thought this could add a nice variation....

off course the medieval type of gun was much smaller than the one in foto ....

a link on a battle , altough it is from 18th century ...

zambureks was the name I think.....

If a unit is innefective and expensive then no one will buy it and it will just make AI worse in quick battles.

I think they like to add these kind of funny things to the games, but there's already cannon elephants and siege cows, so maybe this would be too much. If that was in the game, it should be very rare special unit, wouldn't be nice to face an army of those things. Wouldn't be funny anymore, just stupid...
And I don't want any more gunpowder units, I prefer melee.

Yea too many weird units will ruin the gameplay. Like Spartacus said, we've already got 2...well 2 we know of. CA might have some suprises for us.

Did camels get frightened as bad as elephants when the guns went off?

Too many rare units will take away the fun.
And a camel with a cannon doesn't have the same ring to it as a elephant with a cannon

ok horses with a handcanon, I've seen the pictures in Osprey but they dismissed it cause it fire accuracy was close to zero, camels I believe because of the msg above but elephants with canons on them? haven't heard of that! Maybe they did use it but as known in the books I read it wasn't very accurat to fire with such a weapon on a moving animal, I even think the animal would be to frightened of the sound and the pressure release from the canon.

Even horses are threatened by fire but they can be trained .... I have seen an osprey picture of mounted swivel on a elephant in the Moghul Army of India is I am not wrong ....and be foure I saw another pic of a mounted crossbow on an elephant .... this stuff is ancient and used since long time , the camels with mounted swivels whjere not rare in the regions of pakistan afghanistan india and the like .....

thanks Prom didn't know that but still there is a huge difference between fire and the sound of a canon and the pressure it gives, my opinion of course
