Default How to make your general live forever?

Generals die way too early for my campaigns, I build them up just to see them die a few turns later. Changing the turns per year is a quick fix but I can't promote my young generals(40 yrs of req.)
Is there a way to get rid of the script that kills your general? Or getting rid of the 40yrs promotion requirements?

You can change the age requirement for the cursus honorum ranks. The table is cursus_honorum_level_requirements.

As far as making generals live forever, the closest thing to that is making the turns per year really high.

You could make a new unit and give it an ungodly amount of hit points in the battle entities.

I had started a similar post. Is there no where to edit their age in the saved game file using esf editor? I checked Character Array but see nothing.
