Theurokitai (spear only or sword secondary)

hi, i"m playing as Eperios....

I am wondering about theurokitai and whether they use swords a all....

I would like a strong sword unit to complement my phalanx.
I use Thracian peltasts and Rhombo... and triballi... but would like some variety.

Neither Thureophoroi nor Thorakitai have swords. There are Thorakitai Hoplitai that do have swords but you don't get them with Epeiros. However, Epeiros has other native units that do use swords: Hellenic Heavy Skirmishers, Pheraspides and Hypaspistai. You can also get Illyrians with clubs and Agrianian infantry that uses armour-piercing axes; then there are all those regionals you already mentioned. I hardly see the need for more variety but capture Singidunum (the province north of those you have for training Triballi) and you can train Boii swordsmen and Scordisci Elite Infantry.

As with all units, if you want to see what their secondary weapon is, place them on a wall. Doesn't work with elephants, though.
