Stats to prevent blobbing/hold the line better?
I've start dabbling in the art of the pack file manager and I'm mainly trying to figure out if there's some stats that would reduce blobbing. Right now I've tried increasing ranks of a hastati unit, which gave slightly better line holding.
I think the main problem lies within the charge. The two units just collide in a clusterfrack, blurring the lines entirely.
So, are there any stats to edit that would prevent this?

Well, try it with a friend. Walk 2 units close to each other (So they are standing like 2m apart) and pause, during pause give attack orders. They will still not hold formation, so it isn't the charge...

stats you want to look at are - charge speed, mass, and radius. mass+speed are responsible for soldiers entering enemy formation trampling the opposition (or pressing it against each other), while radius is responsible for size of entity. larger values look better but also cause more collisions so you need to find good middle ground.. anyway solely by reducing mass and speed you can get relatively satisfying results..

Is there any way to disable the autorotating of units?

only by removing formed attack from Heavy infantry.. but then they will be fighting like barbarians.. To some degree also reducing unit maneuverability might help.. but its just relatively minor tweak.
