I saw a lot of threads about guard mod, so I decided to put a pool, do you want it? And why?

Yes,
Current battles are mixture of blobbing clusters. Units cant hold formations and positions.

Strongly agree! We want it back!
guys we must put this thread on the top of the threads' list, so if you vote please post something
I don't want to micro manage my missile troops. After I select a target, my missile troops will follow through my battle line to follow a target when it becomes out of range.
The battles are still to fast, I want to focus on watching the animations, not baby sitting because of a missing feature.
We had hold position in every title bar this one, why?
My units should engulf an enemy better with CA's auto guard mode off, when I want to melee.
Yes and here's a good explanation as to why: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...answer-is-here
Short answer: More tactical options.
Why remove something that wasn't broken to replace it with a simplified system that is? (You can ask this question of nearly every major "feature" of this game)
Obviously yes. Not just guard mode, but a toggle-able guard mode button. Way more important than "special" abilities like "use-the-whip". Might help with unit blobbing, AND gives you an actual tactical decision to make in micro, not just a "be better for a few moments" button.
I am against having a Guard Mode functionality. I prefer this new, passive method of creating unit behaviors because they create a more balanced field.. especially when it comes to AI who would never use the Guard Mode. CA just needs to fix the current guard mode rather than revert to the old ways.. cause honestly, a guard mode toggle wouldn't fix our problems. We'd still have blobbing and we'd still have formation issues. Come to think of it I am against Loose formation buttons as well. Now something that CA does need to fix about the current Guard Mode is that after a battle units need to spread out a little bit and form back up rather than staying clustered wherever they finished their fight. Makes it very difficult to tell what you have available to you when you're micromanaging a 40 unit army.
"You hurt me long ago; my wounds bled for years. Now you are back, but I am not the same."
more importantly, they need to rework charge routine. Currently it looks like soldiers implode itself and whole unit occupies tight space and then starts to expand... quite ridiculous sight..
YES , but only for the disciplined troops/Army
- Helpful in maintaining formation
-- Especially for Phalanx units who need it badly
- I would prefer my troops to fight defensively or offensively when I need them to
YES! You know how annoying it is just to hold a damn battleline without your guys breaking formation and chasing after the enemy....opening gaps in your lines..then the said unit gets encircled by the zerg and suffer un needed losses.....I was trying to hold out against a army three times my size and I had one of my "elite" units break ranks and chase the enemy a bit only to get swarmed by a horde of angry celtic warriors.....
I shouldnt have to babysit my troops how hard is guard mode?! Plus I hate that your troops just stop and cheer when they route the enemy....they just stand there! chase the cowards.....and then because of that I have to chase their army again.....(-_-)
Definitely yes!!! Why: More tactical options & it should result in more formation fighting and less blobbing.
guard mode is 100x better than form attack on some units. lets us blob and stay in formation at will. I personally likes the blob when I am attacking. but I would love it when my units can hold the formation when defending. guard mode would work wonders. I can never understand the reason why they took it out. kinda stupid no matter how you think about it.

Yes , because I liked the option to turn it on and off , Auto guard mode is not disaster right now but I would still prefer to have the option
toggle-able guard mode button.
Yes because it works exactly how we want it to, and the current auto system is completely borked, causes units not to form a line or ever move to support adjacent units even when the prime unit has enemy soldiers within its ranks.
