Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the total 237,323 according to those screens?

That would indicate that Shogun 2 only had 76,096 sales (or so), or according to caissus around 33,903 sales. Which if was true, SEGA/CA must not mind producing games at a massive loss.
Either way, these sale figures aren't accurate as they only include physical sales at best. They aren't including the Steam figures, which would be quite a bit higher given Rome 2 has been around a top 10 seller for the past 2 months.

What I think? I think you are wasting our time with this. You´re in good company though...
    1. Source?
    2. I was always terrible in math but this numbers simply do not add up. More sales in Germany than in whole US? Hard to believe (but maybe possible). IF 532,672 really is the total number of sales, where did the rest go? I had no idea that the extraterrestrial market was that big. Explains the big ad budget.
    3. Is it really too much to ask that people think at least a little before posting or even creating a threat? What was the idea of creating this one other than seeing your name? Is this some kind of sport?

Maths is not right. You cant take global sales and then add them to Europe sales and then add them with countries from Europe that is just silly. The total is just global sales.

What do I think? The math is wrong, you didn't cite a source (although I know it from the cropped screenshots you have taken), and it does not include digital sales. So overall I'd say those numbers mean very, very little.

There aren't enough Americans around who can comprehend a serious wargame?
Proculus: Divine Caesar, PLEASE! What have I done? Why am I here?
    Caligula: Treason!
Proculus: Treason? I have always been loyal to you!
Caligula: [laughs insanely] That IS your treason! You're an honest man, Proculus, which means a bad Roman! Therefore, you are a traitor! Logical, hmm? Ha, ha, ha!

There are, but what does serious wargame and total war have to do with each other?

    Not enough, unfortunately.
The game development business is one of bottomless greed, pitiless cruelty, venal treachery, rampant competition, low politics and boundless personal ambition. New game series are rising, and others are starting their long slide into obscurity and defeat.

I won't take you to task on that (I tend to agree), but you know that's not thoroughly true. TW is pretty huge in the US, though I suspect most do not value the deeper complex historical mods, opting more for the radious/darthmod super vanilla gameplay.

The irony here is that Rome II is not a serious wargame in any respect. It's very much not serious. Perhaps we should wait for it to come out of pre-alpha before judging though.....

    You make some good points.
But you have me curious. what is, deeper complex historical mods. Forgive my American lack of comprehension. Examples if I may ask?

I feel ya. In what, maybe the last 15 years , every movie I've seen except for a few, the English are always the bad guys. What's up with that. I was a big reader of history when I was a lad and the poor library I spent time in was full of British authors and I grew up reading their history and developed a great respect for the British people and their contribution to history.

    On Topic kinda;
Time changes and here we are, just chilling trying to share in something we all care about, war games.

    Good gaming.

This was stated many time before , stats don't include digital sales since they have no way to know it , even the website that publish that chart said it. The only fact is only Steam/CA/Sega know the real sales numbers and I doubt they would have made Rome 2 if shogun 2 only sold 100k unit.

There already 3+ other big thread about Rome 2 sales.

You got those from VGChartz, didn't you?

You don't use VGChartz for PC games.
