Quick Question : Can ATW also be run along with EB, or do I have to choose one.?

I know that might sound like a n00b question considering many of the guys that read this are quite well acknowledged with coding, modding yadda yadda, but the long and short of it is ...

... I am a n00b at this *smile* to the point of not having modded anything in anway EVER.!

So was wondering at the moment I play EB ( Heard some of the EB team worked on this aswell *cheer* Great News ) So was just wondering since this is a BI mod can I run this through BI and keep EB since it is a more RTW mod, or is that just not possible?

Also if not possible could someone even type why, may aswell try to start somewhere trying to learn a few things here and there.

You would need a separate installation, as the mod is altering some RTW Data files. And isn't EB currently working only on RTW 1.2? ATW need BI patched in 1.6.

Ah good point with the 1.2 and 1.6 thing, although would it still work If I just set a new directory for a new RTW + Bi install then patched it up to be compatible with ATW.?

You can have multiple mods installed, but it takes up a lot of hard drive space. First of all Install a clean (un modded) version of RTW to your PC - patch to 1.2. Then inside the RTW folder make 2 new folders - EB & ATW - Copy the contents of your RTW install into each folder (use a simple copy&paste). Install EB; making sure you direct the install to activision/rtw/eb folder.

Now install BI to your activision/rtw/atw folder. Install the BI 1.6 patch. Install ATW to this folder. Install ATW 0.62 patch to this folder.

This should work. I have ATW & Rome Total Realism Platinum both running alongside each other.

Do not forget to make a desktop shortcut of the .exe files from both your ATW & EB install files.

Nope. But there is a way, if you are prepared to reinstall the whole thing (Rome Total War etc ...). JSGME! It's a generic mod enabler, and allows you to install many mods at the same time, you just have to make sure you don't enable one mod on top of another. There is a guide on how to use the tool in the org's scriptorium here, written by Monkwarrior.

I'm not entirely informed on the structure of ATW's folders, it being a BI mod. See this as some kind of last resort -for the time being- because I'd need some extra info on how ATW is structured/installed before I can say something that's definitely going to help you.

In other news: rumours has it that EB 0.8 is going to use the -mod:my_mod command in the command line of the shortcut, meaning EB will be completely playable together with Vanilla, simply by using different shortcuts, and thus - if ATW overwrites the BI/Vanilla-data folder it will probably be compatible as well. Perhaps you could simply delete the whole thing, install ATW, play it and wait a bit for EB 0.8?

Edit: What a senseless post of mine. EB 0.74 is for 1.2. D'oh! Consider this post inane.

nah. ATW is a simple ovrride. You have to have a separate install.
