    Default Seleucid = Easy Mode?

As most of you, I´m playing with patch 5 and the Seleucid DLC now. So far, I have only had a look at the Seleucids, and they seem to be strongest faction all around. Starting out with 6 regions and a lot of satrapies is one part.

The second is their unit roster. Probably the best cavalry units, both in shock (Agema) and melee varieties. Elite sword, spear and pike units. Decent selection of ranged units. Elephants on top.

Do they any weakness in campaign mode? I would suppose that the expansion is limited, if you want to keep your satrapies. But apart from that?

Would be glad to hear frome people who have already tried them out. Thanks in advance!

It actually can be tough unless youre aggressive diplomatically. Early on your eastern satrapies rebel and ally against you. The independent anatolian kingdoms can be aggressive unless you win them over diplomatically. If you fail to act right you can be fighting on three fronts.

Well I play with 2tpy Mods and Dubs Campaign AI Mod on Very Hard and I got destroyed every single time until yet.

And when I consider that I played Carthage on Very Hard with the same Mods and was barely able to make it to a stable empire in the end, it seems to me that the Seleucids are even harder than the Carthaginians (With Mods in mind though, can´t speak for a Vanilla Comparison).
Main difficulty point is their position, you can get attacked from all directions easily and potentional enemies are veeeery close to you. With Carthage you have protective Zones with Lybia and Nova Carthago, at least in the beginning, and you are on top of that secured by the sea a bit.

tis simple you can have very large quantities of trade agreements, that means money

then you have one thing that most of your enemies dont have, pikes.

I conquered most of turkey with levy armies.

i preserved egypt while taking lybia, although cyrenaica, moved and killed it in 2 amazing turns of flash conquering (4 cities)

so now I have the higher quality armies of the satrapies (thorax level) against my levy units.

with one army stuck guarding against guaramantia, the 2nd finished the burning of turkey and now is moving back, with the third conquering arabia, the 4th that was to serve as a defence bastion in susa, lost in the field (beautiful battle, 3 to 1), in a bad move, I tried to conquer persepolis, with the intention of losing susa, to acquire a much more interesting defensive position, thats when I saw what parthava and the other satrapies were hiding, their thorax full stacks. now Im almost finishing the stack that will replace it and will take the war close to home in media artrapi

basically its easy, you have tons of money, I could have more armies if I had saw the need before hand and would move for more quality ones earlier

Honestly this game equals easy mode no matter what faction your playing as. Withstand the opening "everyone declares on you or no one declares on you" campaign decider and go from there. This game is freaking clown shoes...

Hmm,lets see you win with Seleucids on legendary mode then ? I tried but when you have to defend in the west and try taking back some of the rebel satrapies ,it's hell.
I got this far by turn 50 but it's impossible to defend against Parthia plus all the allied satrapies. I'll try again though with Radious mod. Need better diplomacy no doubt. My allied satrapies did very little to help me though Sardes was useful in the west.

It can be quite the slug fest once your eastern most satrapies turn on you. Good diplomacy is needed to keep the west calm(ish) while you go east for glory!
