Default Short Campaign Option would help difficulty becoming easy after Civil War

Why did they remove the Short Campaign option? It seems like this game needs it more than anything.

The game starts off challenging in the first (few?) dozen turns, the world is risky as a bunch of people gain up on your faction and you struggle for survival. Then you finally get a foothold, but a Civil War starts and you have to deal with 15 doomstacks. You struggle even more and finally persevere...

but after that the game goes downhill quick and it just becomes an issue of stamina to finish conquering the rest of the entire world. The victory conditions are just too much. I know I have won about 50 settlements in, why does it need to make me conquer 150 (as an example)?

At this point, fixing the 50->150 difficulty would be very tricky to get right for CA, they should just bring back Short Campaign.

You don't have to conquer the regions. Regions hold by military allies/client states/satrapies count for the victory limit. Few minutes ago I finished campaign as Egypt - I realised that all I had to do, was to sign few military alliances around the map. (And that pushed me through the settlement limit )

I do agree with the O.P. it would be nice to have a short campaign option. Why would CA take this out?

    +1

This game needs a short campaign option more than any other Total War I've played.

There is a Short capaign mod which reduces number of captured regions by half and also changes other things. I even read a guide how to make own victory conditions by changing startpos.esf So now when starting new campaign i make conditions as i want and which i find suitable for me
I would give you links but i am on mobile right now.

I think they took out the Short Campaign option because you can't lose anymore. You'll notice there's no timelimit - you have forever to finish the game.
Though it is pretty awesome how finally military alliances and vassals actually contribute to winning the game.

But the game is so long that it starts to be boring when you have for exapmle 90 regions and you have still 50 to win. So it doesnt matter that you dont have time limit. The man wishes to end it already and to start new camapign.
