    Default So patch 5 performance?

Is it improved or not? I hear more negative stuff than positive about patch 5 , i dunno if i should reinstall the game and start playing or wait for patch 6, i mean does CA read the thousands topics about poor performance and still decide not to fix it? Or maybe they just don't know how, and i am guessing its the 2nd one.

It really does seem to depend on each person`s machine. It`s working relatively well for me, but for everyone of us it works for there`s another person it just won`t. It seems almost like pot luck.

I`d flip a coin and decide if I were you that`s the best info you can rely on.

People are reporting issues with mods, so if you mod your game, you may find patch 5 to not work as well.
I haven't seen any real problems with patch 5, so I'd say go for it. The unit count is pretty nice to see.

I have an i5, 4670 3.4 9unclocked0, 8gb, 660 oc edition as well, but this don`t guarantee it`ll work with you. It`s more complicated than that.

    Again, YOU have to decide.

    Concerns after Patch 5

I am finding with this patch my melee units have the missile icon when moving the mouse over enemy units rather than the sword.

You already know about the replays.

    Address this as well;

The animation that occurs every time you activate an ability looks terrible and kills the entire atmosphere of the game.
Throwing of the pila animation is terrible, it was perfect in the original Rome add the fire at will button to the Romans. Unit card not good hard for these old eyes to get used to.

To date I have only played 30 hrs of Rome II. I can't see those hours going up until something happens in regards to fixing this game. There are other issues, I just don't have the time to list them all.
3K needs to have an Avatar Campaign!!!

Ultimately it depends on what settings you play on and the size of your battles. I play on a 4 year old paperweight, and I still run alright if I tweak my settings.

I installed patch 5 and had a CTD after loading a battle just a few minutes later. This is the first CTD the game has given me. I reloaded the game and had no problems after playing for a few hours after that, though.

I am talking about performance when you zoom in, not overall performance that is ok on my pc but is there increase of fps when you zoom in compared to other patches?

Well 8 fps more is pretty good, how about the rest of you is there any improvement when you zoom in the battle?

Works fine, but the problem is if you zoom in. Than the animations are interrupting and it looks horrible. I tried to adjust everything in to low settings except the unitsize which is on huge, but there isn't any change so i can also play on higher configurations. That is really something that must be changed. I guess the mo-cap is simply to difficult.

Feels like it is more choppy but don't have any numbers to compare with.

    Its running smooth.

Only had one crash in 50hours of gameplay.

    System (custom build):
    Intel core i5 4760k
    Gigabyte 770 GTX
    8 gb ram
    1TB HDD
    Win 7 64x ult
    All drivers are updated

Also: using the Geforce experience to optimize my graphics in Rome 2.
Battles with 6000 units is no big deal for this system. Running it ons High-ultra.
    No special effects.

So when you zoom in 6000 man fighting you get good fps? Do you have the unlimited video memory off?

You can't tell it's running smooth if you fight only with 6000 men, you should be able to play with a lot more with your rig. Where are the huge total war battles we liked?

Patch 5 notes show us that there is almost nothing about performance work.

For me patch 5 improved the performance to the point a game should perform.
