Default Holy Roman empire loyalty problems?

i dont know if this has been adressed before but i was reading the totalwar.com factions description where it said that
who isthe emperor is controlled by election not inheritence.

nothing wrong with that but however as i think they will be using the same system as in rome total war for inheritence( where you choose your successor ) are they saying that you wont have this possibility or are they just saying that so it looks more historical? I can picture it "close your eyes and click anywhere on the family tree then you have your next emperor", very randomised =)

I actually hope that you aren't allowed to choose the next ruler. And what would be even more awesome is if different factions had different inheritance styles.

Most of Europe will pass inheritance to the eldest son

Holy Roman Empire the nobles would select the king based on their stats, chivalry or dread most likely. (I wish the Republic of Novgorod was also included for this reason), and other nobles who have good stats and were in the running will be spiteful and have loyalty problems.

Byzantine would be like Rome where you select the next emperor yourself.

    etc.

Well Soulflame said that the family tree is alot like RTW so it might be possible to select the heir this time which I hope.

Yeah, you can just always chose to have your eldest son be the heir. Although I do hope that the election of HR Emperor is somewhat like the election of the Pope.

Well didn't the oldest child automaticly get assign the heir in RTW ??
The family tree from RTW was such a improvement over M1TW IMO.
The ability to pick your heir if you wanted to gave you much better control over your children and their fate.
I hope CA tells us soon how the elections will work.
Just hope it is better then M1TW, that way was a bit weak.

it will be interesting to see how they do the HRE, though i think that the HRE will just have poor loyalty like the seleucids in RTW and you will most likely be able to pick an heir yourself, though i would like an election system for the HRE.

it would be awesome to take into consideration the power of nobles.

    like in the PL Commonwealth...

    Put it this way....

If CA remove the ability to pick your own heir.....

Then theres going to be a lot of young idiot scottish princes invading england..... without any troops to command.

And i realy hope they adjust the vices this time round.... kinda got sick of 4/5ths of my generals being child molestors.

In MTW the electors always elected my eldest son, even if he had ****** stats.

humm i just hope that the holy roman empire will have no royal family and the emperor will be chosen from among the generals which will result in some arguments amongst the other ones =)

    that seems complex.

and does a slight nuance of imperial politics really strike you as that important? why can't we just accept it and relish the fact that we'll have it easier than the emperors did.

can't see it being complex myself after all they have already done it for the pope, its not as if there starting from scratch.
