Its just too funny,i mean if ca wanted to make a faction hard to play they should have done with more elegance not like this,in just 4 turns i was with war with EVERYONE stack rushed me + their hitman agents, every end turn i was listening sabotage sabotage, revolt revoooolt, honorable death bla bla bla, this needs to be balanced asap -_- give seleucids a chance, now its 10% you live till turn 40

I played on legendary and steamrolled the whole east with my supreme units first, while quite handily defending against egypt. Not hard at all actually. Their starting position might not be optimal but they have units like no other faction. ==> Spam elite units ftw

I'm playing vanilla patch on hard and sure, I was in war with the whole eastern map, but I had a client puffering. I know sometimes the game is "bugged" and you can also have bad luck, so that very strong enemies declaring war on you instantly... but speaking for my game: easy. Meanwhile I have 10 military alliances and I'm trading with everyone. Right now CW broke out....over 25 full stacks with silvershields,... this could be entertaining.

    Yes, it can happen.

Let´s wait to see how civil war shapes the alliances and the remnants of the Empire.

Idk its been pretty easy for me. I can get trade agreements with like EVERYONE. Im at war with like 5 of my old satraps, but theyre weak as crap. Ive been having a crap load of fun with them. They have a huge unit list, and its fun to feel like youre starting out as a super power

Been playing on very hard, turn 16, and I'm only at war with Persia, Armenia tried to declare war but in 3 turns asked for peace and paid 3000 for it.

The starting position is pretty bad with many open holes for enemies to fill but it turned out to be an easy campaign. Some declared war, some wanted peace, some wanted military alliances. Didn't see everyone attacking me.

I don't know, whether this is intended. After the few turns, half of my satraps declared war on. That's cool, I thought, since they were far away from me. Then I attacked Cyprus and Egypt, and after a few turns, around turn 20 hit the fan. All of my neighbors declared war on me. I was barely able to create enough armies to repel their attacks. The satraps loyal to me quickly got destroyed. But the reason I think that something is wrong here is because even ROME declared war on me. Rome!!! Why!!! The furthest known land to me ends in Greece. Why the hell Romans declared war on me? So after a few more turns I find myself surrounded by the enemies, without straps, and without enough armies to deal with it. My income is low, since nobody trades with me (except Rhodes).
P.S. I'm playing on very hard with Radious mod.

about the only think I don't like about the seleucidsis that you cant get regular hoplites and I think silver shields might be a bit under powered but they are still damn effective against eastern factions

My first five turns was fine, keeping the satrapies nice and happy. Then one of them broke off, and declared war on me. Fine, I thought, I'll deal with you in the next turn. Hmm, what's this? Three more satrapies rebelling? Fine, I can manage. Next turn. Alright, then, only Sardes remaining loyal.. I can still deal with this. And then, at turn 30, I'm on a defensive war with 80% of the (known to my map) factions at war with me. Next time I'm just going to cancel the satrapies in the first turn, and hope that they don't team up on me.
August Strindberg: "There's a view, current at the moment even among quite sensible people, that women, that secondary form of humanity (second to men, the lords and shapers of human civilisation) should in some way become equal with men, or could so be; this is leading to a struggle which is both bizarre and doomed. It's bizarre because a secondary form, by the laws of science, is always going to be a secondary form. Imagine two people, A (a man) and B (a woman). They start to run a race from the same point, C. A (the man) has a speed of, let's say, 100; B (the woman) has a speed of 60. Now, the question is 'Can B ever overtake A?" and the answer is 'Never!'. Whatever training, encouragement or self-denial is applied, the proposition is as impossible as that two parallel lines should ever meet."

What are you talking about? I have been playing on very hard and it is VERY easy. I have two stacks, trading with most of the factions I know, and am only at war with my satrapies in the far east. They are either getting destroyed by my loyal subjects, or my two stacks destroying everything they can throw at me. I even have defensive alliances with many select factions around me, to use as buffer zones if needed.

I'm playing Seleucids on legendary and it's really hard. I think I should have defended in the West and concentrated on those revolting satraps in the East. It looks like I'm doing quite well on turn 50 but I'm getting hammered by Parthia and all the eastern rebels. My allies do hardly anything to help me and there's a serious agent spawn every turn plus Parthia and those rebels spawn full stacks every turn. This is so hard..I might start again .My allies the Ossydian Kingdom are at war with Macedon and they've swopped territories..strange game.

Not too surprised that it's hard, tons of Satrapies blocking your expansions and they drag you into wars. If they made Satrapy AI better then it would get easier.

For those having a hard time, can you give us some idea on your diplomatic strategies ?.? How did you try to please your neighbor etc?
Never argue with an idiot, cuz they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

The campaigns aren't consistent, if that makes sense. On one new game you might find you absolutely dominate, in the next you might find everyone revolts and declares war on you. It's a little bit random, but keeps it interesting. It's the same for most factions i've found, although to varying degrees; with Rome I've completely dominated the West in one campaign but had and had Macedon, the Greeks and Carthage all declare war simultaneously and struggled to maintain Sicily and Southern Italy in another; with Macedon I've dominated Greece and the East, and then another time struggled against the barbarians at the North and Sparta in Greece.

At it's worst the Selucids are hard to play. But if things go well for you obviously you're going to have an easy time. The human will always be better than the AI, but the AI do have the potential to put a lot of pressure on the player on the Campaign Map.
