If you are playing in a Coop Campaign and both players are fighting in a battle, usually after the battle is finished you can continue the battle chasing down the routing units, and then quit later. Now it drops you to the main menu instead of the campaign map when you choose to quit. Thus ending the coop campaign as one player "Has left the game".
