Well you see, I was talking to a man in this story for 3 hours.... then I noticed he was plant.

The world takes place in the material world, logically, though the story has no material foundation. You want trippy.... should of IM'd me last night

The story MUST grab the reader within the first ten pages. Can you think of any good movie that didn't grab you within the first ten minutes?

    Violence and character development.
Thickj plot is kind of an interesting thing in there, but not as entertaining as the violence and character development.

Me and a friend thought up a story about two norwegian brothers; the more insane one's sphincter is like a portal to an alternate world within his colon. One of the other characters is a man who had survived in there since childhood, leading a band of others who were "lost" within the colon, surviving against the Tapeworms. He's the only one to ever escape alive (usually, when one jumps out, they resize either too quickly or not quickly enough and the results are often messy). A side-effect of his time in The Colonverse, is that his body was irreparably damaged by the natural methaneous atmosphere, and so his body was half-burned away. Luckily, his body adapted to the environment, bonding and assimilating the ambiet fecal matter...until his left arm, leg, and torso was poo, and he could manipulate it with a thought.
A side character is a japanese guy who speaks french in a french accent, but the subtitles under him are, like, aztec hieroglyphs, so...no one knows what he's saying. The whole story is about thier wacky misadventures in the NYC.
    How's that for tripped-up?

I like most books if its not the same thing I've seen a thousand times.

How about hmmm Mankind has virtually deevolved into primordial clans each hunting remnants of the surviving animals, Due to global warming the skies have turned red and many things burn on contact. The air itself gives you the affects of Marijuana and Acid combined.
