    Default People, calm down.

Ok, honestly, it has gotten to the point now where people are just throwing insults in all directions. CA are like outlaws. This is not a healthy community right now.

YES, Rome 2 could and SHOULD have been A LOT better and polished at release. I have no idea how they could release it in the state if was, or even the state it is in right now, for that matter. When that is said it is a great game, although it has many faults.

NO, it was not the game a lot of you, including me, expected it to be. A lot of features were/are lacking, and we want it back. I understand this, because I want it too.

CA has done a lot to help bring the game back post release. There have been 5 huge patches after release, and have you ever heard of a company that has had 5 huge patches (and beta patches) 1 month after release? We would expect nothing less of course, but it does show us that they do intend to make this the best of the best.

When it comes to modding, it is CA's game, and they cannot take into account all of the hundreds of mods every time they patch their games! It's just that simple! Modders mod the game, CA updates, modders will have to update their mods. That's the way it is. Although I'd like to see a lot more modding options out there (like for Rome 1 and Medieval 2), we are lucky to be able to mod it at all, and hopefully, they will expand our possibilities in the future, like they stated yesterday.

A lot of people are enjoying the game now, with mods or without. Some enjoy it, but feel that it lacks a lot, or should be more patched yet. Both I understand, and I belong to the group somewhere in between.

For you who just hate it, you are of course free to post your opinions and criticism, but please, keep it constructive. There have been sooooo many rant threads going on every single day since release, and it just gets tedious. Both here, and over at the official forums. CA is trying hard and working overtime to fix this game, and we should be thankful for that. If you dont approve, just dont buy the next game. However, we all know you will, because you love Total War. And Rome 2 is not that bad either. It's getting there

Thank you for reading my post, and have a good day.

Thanks to those same people you are complaining about... You think would be trying to fix the game if everyone was just praising it?

You have a point, but many posters have taken this all far too seriously.

It's just a game after all (just not a very good one, but perhaps with time ...).

Did you even read my post? I said it's good to post that you're unhappy or if you want to constructively critisise the game. Just dont rant about it, it's just so uncivilized and unprofessional. Makes you look like a jerk.

So complaining about complainers, it makes you look uncivilized and unprofessional (who said gamers instantly means professionals?). Makes you look like a jerk.

Seriously anyone who purchased the game has a right to be vocal against about it, whether you like it or not and if it gets the game fixed (unless you are the minority who thinks the game is perfect) then what is the problem? Gamers win and developers only listen when gamers are radical, not when they are calm.

I'm sorry, what? Yes, you're right, I am in fact complaining about all the complaining around here. But am I ranting? No. Do you understand that difference? Do you really think my post makes me look like a jerk? And it really does not seem like you have read my posts above, because you would have understood that I think it's good that people are vocal about their opinions, either way. Because CA needs to know what people think. But please do it like adults, not like cry babies (im sorry if you're insulted, I couldnt really find a more fitting term). That's just not going to help anyone. Of couse people have a right to complain. So do so. But not by starting flame wars and hate threads

Helmersen, dont get me wrong you have a point. A valid point.

The whining everyone is doing is because modders since day one of release have put in more effort then CA and ALREADY FIXED a lot of the problems. But then a new patch comes out that undoes everything they have coded, so for a time period inbetween the mods are useless.

Its like having a broken house, then me coming along and repairing it for you, only for someone else to come back, break it again then walk away.

I understand this, Tyso, and you are right. This is both annoying and uncalled for. However, this is a game CA have spent countless hours and money on. However, the modders do this out of their own time, and dont make any money. That is something to respect. I too get frustrated when things like this crash, and I understand fully that others do too. It is, however, a fact that CA does let us mod it, and are trying to make it easier. It's not like they are releasing patches to mess things up for us, they know that repeated messing up will hurt them. Things are obviously not perfect, but I do hope, as I'm sure you do, that it will be better

so what op if people are complaining and "ranting" (which btw is more a less an imaginary thing on your part)?

they bought the product and arent happy. big deal.

when the game is fixed then yes create this thread if you think people are trolling CA. as it stands there are plenty of issues so deal with it....

(mods will sort out any idiots).

But ranting in itself will not do any good. If you tell me you dont like the game because of this and that, great, we can have a debate. But saying "THIS IS THE WORST PEACE OF EVER, WHY DID I BUY THIS, CA ED ME OVER THIS TIME, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER OF THEIR PRODUCTS AND THIS GAME SUCKS", is another thing. Dont you agree?

who exactly said this? and if so report the post and the mods can deal with it...if they wish.

you know what I think for some sad reason you just dont like the anti CA feeling and want to try and overexaggerate to try and make somehow things better in your (deluded) sense of things...

    apologist drivel doesnt fool me...

Dude i peronally lost my faith in CA!! I rly tried it again and again to play this game but i couldnt. Every singlle Campaign more and more bugs. You ask if someone knows companies which patch their games so much after release? Maxim on Sim City 5 and CA on Rome 2 . The rest of the companies at least release 80% finished games. Rome 2 is such a big disapointment. They still patched yesterday the PROLOGUE. Nothing works in this game. Nothing will work in this game. We are crying since the release to remove Torches. Its still in game. What is going on? Iam asking you
And you and me know exactly how many bugs got this game.

I dont say that a game has to be perfect. i Know a game cant be perfect. But with those kind of marketing/hype and the history of Rome : Total War i expected something far far better and first of all that the most things are working and based on Rome 1 . And dont forget we paid 55 Euros. So its our right to demand something for our money. Because i dont like to throw my money away. And i dont like to get foolished.

There are plenty of technical issues, yes. People have a right to complain about them, yes. People also have a right to be jerks, yes. But that doesn't mean they can't silence that little voice in their head that says "You're anonymous. Rant and rave like a lunatic on the street."

Next time you read one of the complaint threads, imagine if someone was saying those things out loud to you, at a store. If it seems like a situation where you'd stop, stare and take out your phone to upload it onto youtube, then it has probably crossed the line from *Reasonable, constructive complaint to store clerk* to *Ranting lunatic shouting conspiracy theories at the store clerk*.

But as a manager why would you change anything aside from maybe, "Okay, we need more security (mods) to keep the lunatics out." It's more about how much weight would you give to a well constructed argument vs. a rant. Imagine being the store owner, or more literally CA, do you change your ways because someone complains and hurls abuse? Or because someone has come in, explained to you their problem, explained to you their perceived solution and been patient as you replied/offered solutions/attempted to solve issues.

And yeah, this thread is probably just going to devolve into another rant thread anyway. Really we should be talking about the game, not talking about people talking about the game.

...I was agreeing with you about the point of the thread, but okay thanks for the advice.

Anyway, my points are more to do with the usefulness of one type of argument vs. another.

this is just a troll/flame thread for the OP and other members to have a pop at people who complain about CA...

pathetic and should be closed as serves no purpose.
