Now that you are here you shall leave with all my riches but their shall be no trade between us.

I started a Seleucid campaign. A number of neighbors hate me but I was able to get a few non aggression pacts and trade agreements. War with Qidri at the start so I asked for peace. I realize their at war with me and my satrapies but giving me 5000 for peace is a little to much isn't it? and of course they refuse to trade.

Hahaha nope working as designed. Qidri is an INCREDIBLY rich region (sarcasm) completely dwarfing the weak and lowly Seleucids. Its always been this way, it is known... lmao

Qidri is probably worth a lot because it's HUGE. Lots of the super rich provinces tend to be huge - easily the size of proper provinces, yet are only considered a region.

So it makes sense that Qidri is giving its entire starting treasury to him, its a huge 3 slot region sure to be racking in the dough... (sarcasm removed)

It maybe doesn't make sense no, but they can. The AI gets free money every turn anyway. I think the region Qidri is in, also makes around 3000 or so... so each settlement probably has around 1000 natural income.

Tried firing up the all playable factions mod and it shut down my computer, very nice... The region of Qidri does not make that much money per turn and even with its gift/boost/bonus income of ***700*** per turn. It has an UNDERDEVELOPED town to begin with ONE SLOT. It does not even when its built up with early builds every approach the money per turn your talking about. Conquer it sometime and see for yourself. Ive done so more than a time or two with the Ptolemy's

The AI having more money then it should is nothing new in Total War. I just know when I was playing co-op my friend said that Southern African region and the Middle Eastern ones were displaying as over 3000 wealth.

    Its cool man easy misunderstanding...

Just fired up my last Ptolemy campaign and the region of Qidri, as built up with town building, fields, and barracks, it makes 1300 a turn on normal taxes. Its a three slot building town with no special, ie gold, wheat. Being a minor settlement in the province means it already has no access to industrial buildings or commerce buildings, thus further handicapping it, Not to mention its in the middle of the desert with no port access.

Back to the OPS original post I believe that is the new "Aggressive-Passive" AI behavior we have all been asking for lolz

I guess the 5000 helped along with the objective rewards. I'd say the only real downside is that the easternmost satrapies broke away.

Wow, 7 turns in and you have already smashed the entirety of the Ptolemaic Empire. The AI definitely proving no match for a human player. One more reason the garrison units need to be stronger, at least in the capital of provinces and especially Faction capitals

Actually that's more that Egypt has probably some of the, if not THE, worst infantry in the game. Take a look at them, they are pretty awful. They don't get anything good until they get some tech rolling, and the Seleucids start with significantly more powerful units meaning you can easily steamroll Egypt if you do it. My friend had played Egypt at some point and admits surviving the inevitable Seleucid invasion is the most difficult part, since the Egyptian units are garbage.
