Default How to change the indicators of Giant Ballista

    Hi
I want to change the indicators of Giant ballistas and to make them more powerful
    I want :
    -to increase their ammo
    -to increase their range
    -to increase their accuracy
    ......................
And if it is possible to increase the catapults per unit(from 4 to 8) if it is possible.
Which file exactly i must change-i went to "main rome-startpos.esf" but i cant find where exactly i must make the changes(I am using the program EDITSF 1.0.8).
Would you say is this the correct file that i must change and where exactly is this ?
    Thank you in advance

Fist off, you're in the wrong place, with the wrong tool. The tool you want is Pack File Manager (PFM), and you will be editing a database table extracted from data_rome2.pack in the data directory of Rome 2.

Once you have PFM, follow the steps in my signature to create a new mod pack. When it asks which files you want to add, go to data_rome2.pack -> db and add land_units and projectiles to your mod.

Back in your mod pack, go to land units. Above the table viewer is a list of several options and controls, tick show filter list and then "Add Filter" on the window that opens. Use the values, Column: "key", Match Type: "Partial", Filter Value: "Giant_Ballista". Save it with any name and then enable it in the filter list on the right.

Your land units table will shrink down to 10 entries, corresponding to the 10 cultural variants of this unit.

The very first column (accuracy), highlight all the entries, right click -> apply expression -> enter the value you wish the accuracy to become. Scroll across until you find the column labelled "numguns" and repeat the procedure. Save (current version of PFM is slightly unstable, is a good idea to save when shifting between tables)

Next open the projectiles table. Scroll down to stone_large and across to effective range and increase to whatever value you want max range to be.

To install your mod, copy your mod pack from where you created it, and paste it into the data directory of Rome 2. When you launch the game, in the launcher, click on mod manager and tick your mod to enable it and then continue as normal.

It’s better to excite some and offend others than be bland and acceptable to all
