    Default R2 official mod manager?

So I just loaded up my Rome 2, and on the launcher I saw a new button... mod manager... it wasn't there before, WTF?

I'm already using the unofficial MM, will the 2 conflict?

Mitch Mod Manager is now obsolete. No conflict, just doesn't work anymore.

You will only need to launch through steam.

Sadly ALL Mods that we have are useless until the creator of the Mod uploads to the Steam Workshop. You will need to subscribe to those Mods again. I highly recommend deleting all the old ones, and subscribing when they upload.

I'm rather pissed, because a whole bunch of mods are now usless and have rendered my saved games unplayable.

Not entirely correct. You can just put the mod in your Rome 2 data folder and it can be activate with the build in mod manager as long as it's in mod type pack and not movie type pack. The creator do not have to upload on Steam if they don't want to. They have to however update it according to latest patch, which is 1.5

Exactly what needs to be updated though? Even simple uniform recolor mods like Athalwulf's natural dyes mod won't work with this latest patch.

damn, that is good news. I was about to blow the lid off when I thought he was right about me having to upload the small tweaks I made my self.

“The only rule that ever made sense to me I learned from a history, not an economics, professor at Wharton. "Fear," he used to say, "fear is the most valuable commodity in the universe." That blew me away. "Turn on the TV," he'd say. "What are you seeing? People selling their products? No. People selling the fear of you having to live without their products." freakin' A, was he right. Fear of aging, fear of loneliness, fear of poverty, fear of failure. Fear is the most basic emotion we have. Fear is primal. Fear sells.” WWZ

Have you had your daily dose of fear yet? craziii

    Yeah me too lol

It would be awkward to upload a small tweak to the workshop just to be able to play it, titled "My personal tweak - do NOT download" and have about a thousand of such mods on the workshop!

Yep, and lost a bunch of unit packs, all factions playable, I had a mod for the campaign camera to zoom out more...

Give a few days, they will be uploaded...to be perfectly honest, I used Steam Workshop for when I was playing Civ 5 (waiting on RTW2)...its not terrible. No load order, so I am not sure how conflicts will get sorted.

I was in a middle of finishing my bloody freakin campaign! Oh well, time to shelf Rome 2 for a few days until the mods get uploaded. Why did they make it so you have to use steam workshop? It's a pain to navigate and I hate auto-updating!!! For skyrim I prefered the nexus myself

    Bah!

THis is , I like creating small mods which I use for a custom battle or 2, now I will have to upload them to steam and then subscribe to them myself? That's just stupid

i used mod manager 1.0 and had no problems so you still can use it (maybe only for english versions)

Oh no no no, now this is just unacceptable. I also make my own personal slight changes to certain big mods and if I can't even play them without uploading them... no, unacceptable. Looks like we'll have to bother Mitch to make his MM override the official MM

thanks lestat for pointing this out, i just discovered it myself. Got my own little mods working-ish, though some are not and need updating.

Has no one mentioned the glaring problem that is the lack of load order functionality in the official MM?

mentioned in this very thread, people are aware of it, tbh I have no idea why it isn't in there, i'll stick with .Mitch's MM for now, its better than the CA one

Are you using v4 of Mitch's MM? I'm using that version and it doesn't activate the mods anymore.

Difference is that Mitch's MM works. CA's one does NOT work.

I'm still able to create a mod of movie type and just have it in the data folder with no problems. Although, I did have to create a new pack from the patch5 data pack. There are entries in there that are not in patch 4, so I think this could be what's causing the crashes.
