As we all know with one turn per year, characters are not going to be around for long. However, I just noticed something concerning the recruiting of agents. When I needed a new agent, I was picking them from the left end of the list and sometimes getting for example---a spy who was already 40 years old. (I also did not realize until recently that there was a tool tip showing their starting traits)
I'm assuming that agents also age in while in the waiting pool. Anyway, by switching to picking the agent from the right end of the list, I started occasionally getting a spy who was only 17 or 18 years old. This would lead one to believe that new agents enter and move through the pool from right to left. Obviously an 18 year old agent is going to be around 22 years/turns longer than one who starts at the ripe old age of 40.
Of course one has to also evaluate a particular agent's starting traits and weigh this against longevity.
I'm guessing this also would apply to dignitaries and champions.
Cheers
