    Default Washed out colors.

Is anyone else wondering why the colors appear to be washed out? I started an eastern empire campaign recently and it was really apparent. No brilliant ocean color or blazing hot desert. It seems that this is a filtering effect that is intentional and doesn't improve even when I adjust my settings. I haven't seen very many complaints regarding this topic. Any tips or thoughts?

    Thanks in advance.

Yep, that's RTW2, there is a mod called JEM people seem to rate well.

This is what CA's latest bullshot looks like:

This is what it looks like with naturalized colors and anti-aliasing.

Is there any AA? I thought it was missing along with other effects, even though we think we are turning it on.

iirc GEM uses an injector to give it AA, and if you want colourful, use the True Colour preset

A lack of contrast due to the amount of lag. Use a lower shader model in the settings. It would take a powerful and well tuned PC to play the game on the highest settings.

    Caligula: Treason!
Proculus: Treason? I have always been loyal to you!
Caligula: [laughs insanely] That IS your treason! You're an honest man, Proculus, which means a bad Roman! Therefore, you are a traitor! Logical, hmm? Ha, ha, ha!

What is your take on what is a decent PC? I have a i5 4760 Quad at 3.4 CPU, and a OC Nvidia 670 2GB GPU along with 8GB of decent system memory.
Even in small engagements it still looks the same, I am using the highest setting of shader.

1150 pin? Powerful is 2011 pin. Seems to be an argument that 1155 pin was better than 1150. But 1150 pin is now the low end of the market.

The color palette is extremely washed and the so called "AA" option that we have just blurs the game and it just gives me an eye strain..
If this is the final and finished product, I'd like to have the "way pre-alpha" game that was mentioned and played in the Siege of Carthage video

Oh I thought this was about uniform colors. Anyway I just want to add that I think uniforms got to little color, they should have used a stronger and more merry pallete like in the original RTW.

So I guess this is normal. I doubt the washed out color effect has anything to do with my system setup. Especially when you compare them to screenshots CA dished out prior to release...

Honestly, thank the nine divines for GEM, although it is time consuming when you have to constantly experiment with the options to find something that caters to your taste..
and the non-existent AA which causes all this horrendous JAGGED lines are unescapable!!! My Nvidia control panel cant seem to over ride the options!!!
